What ride is this?

Hope you can help. I remember going to Disneyland back in about 2000 and I remember sitting on a kind of people mover thing. All I remember about it was that it was up in the air on a track, like the monorail, and you kinda shot around sections of the park. It would go slow then shoot you along the track, then go slow again, etc. Anyone know what it was?

You are describing the Rocket Rods; it used the same track as the old PeopleMover. It didn't last very long as the ride was very high maintenance. If you want to read about it, there is a website called Yesterland that has a lot of info on this ride and other rides that are no longer at DLR.

That was it...rocket rods. Thanks guys. I was in DL last Sept and thought I was imagining it when I couldn't find it. I'm sad it closed though, it was silly but it was a lot of fun.

And unfortunatly, those tracks will remain stagnate for a couple more years at least if not best.Disney has no plans to put anything in it's place.

Rocket Rods used to be my favorite ride back when I was a little kid! Although the lines were always extremely long.

i remember waiting in line for rocket rods FOREVER!!! that was the worst. it was a fun ride, but the line was awful.
