What ride goes to what movie?

Arent most of the ones themed to a movie basically named after the movie. I know there are a few exceptions: Splash to Song of the South, Storybookland is linked to many of the Disney fairytales, etc. Some rides were rides before movies came out, ex. POTC and HM. And some are linked to rides, but they can relate, ex. Jungle Cruise to Jungle Book.

Also others that don't share the name would be like: Casey Jr. Circus Train to Dumbo, and Mad Tea Party to Alice in Wonderland of course!

Another not-so-commonly-known one:

Gadget's Go Coaster - Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers

The Jungle Cruise is actually based on a Walt Disney True Life Adventure from 1955 about a pride of lions and the movie The African Queen.

Other than rides that share their title with the movie which inspired them (ex: Dumbo from the movie Dumbo), there is:
Splash Mountain - Song of the South
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters - Toy Story
Star Tours - Star Wars (not Disney)
Casey Jr. Circus Train - Dumbo*
Mad Tea Party - Alice in Wonderland
Gadget's Go Coaster - Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride - The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad**

*Interesting trivia tidbit: Dumbo and Alice in Wonderland are the only movies that have 2 attractions that are inspired by it within Disneyland. (edited as I was incorrect previously due to a brain fade. Thanks DangerMouse!)

** The only official "ride" at Disneyland.

It's a Small World = Valley of the Dolls

kidding.

I was like, no way! I never heard of that movie!

Indy after the Indiana Jones movies.
Winnie the Pooh after The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Nemo Subs after Finding Nemo.
Tarzan's Treehouse after Tarzan.
Buzz after Toy Story.
Star Tours after Star Wars.

That's all I can think of that hasn't been named right now..

Third Man on the Mountain was released in 1959. In the movie, the Matterhorn was referred to as the Citadel. It starred James McArthur, who is well known for playing "Danno" in Hawaii 5-O. ;)
