My Dh and I are going on a childless 7 day trip to WDW in May and we are looking for dining spots. We already have a breakfast at Boma booked as well as a lunch at LTT but we don't really know where else to book. We are not on the dining plan and we dont like anything SUPER fancy. So not Victoria and Alberts. He loves steak and I love pasta for dinners. We both love burgers or pasta for lunches. Any ideas?

DBF and I have an great dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge last fall. We had a great ribeye steak with garlic mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. I also recommend the egg roll appetizer!
Also had a great burger at Sci-Fi at DHS for lunch. I haven't eaten at Mama Melrose's at DHS yet but I hear the italian fare is quite good there. And there is a great Italian restaurant at Epcot's WS.
We're not the super fancy people either... just want some good food in our usual vacation attire. :goodvibes
Hope that helps a little! Have a great vacation!

When myself and DBF were there last September we had some great meals at Teppan Edo, Narcoosee's which isn't as fancy as everyone thinks unless you are celebrating something special (many people come straight from the park), San Angel Inn had some great Mexican!....We ate at Boma at the AKL and weren't impressed with the food, I guess you have to have a large pallette for the different assortments they offer....(great drinks though!!) oh and the italian place in Epcot was pretty fantastic, especially since I'm a big pasta person!!!

mama melrose, while a divisive source of discussion on these boards, has never done wrong by my beauteous DW and me.

le cellier if you can get a ressie.

jiko is a signature restaurant, but sooo worth the money.

yak & yeti at AK has really good asian food.

Liberty Tree, Grand Floridian Cafe & Tutto have good pasta dishes, LTT just for lunch though. The burger was very good at Le cellier if you got that & your DH got steak.

If you like pasta and he is a steak person you should do Tony's at MK. It is a cute little romantic spot (not the best in the world but still).
Also the theme is romance with Lady and the Tramp, so cute.

Another romantic spot is San Angel Inn in Epcot. More traditional dishes not tex mex but the atmosphere can't be beat for romance that isn't fancy nor have to dress up for.
There is a little river that runs thru the restaurant (it is a part of the ride that goes thru there), so it adds to the ambience that you are sitting right in mexico by a river.......so sweet.
A definite must if you want romance without the "fancy". I do recommend checking out the menu though, as I said it is more traditional than most Americans are use to. Make sure you like the menu too.

STEAK! If you and your husband like an excellent steak, try Shula's. Nice decor without being stuffy ala V&A, but adult in atmosphere. Also, try the martinis. Best at Disney.:thumbsup2

I had a great pasta dish at the Yachtsman Steakhouse last month, and obviously your husband will find good steaks there. Grand Floridian Café has outstanding burgers and pastas at lunch.

Wow---7 days without kids! My husband and I are going in May, but it's only for 4 days without kids! Our DDs are having a hard enough time with 4 days, they would probably die if we went for a week! :rotfl: I have ressies for DH and myself at two "new to us" places: Le Cellier and Flying Fish and two of our favorites: Ohana and 50's Cafe. Have fun!

We are going for 7 days without kids too for our anniversary. We are hitting spots that the kids don't like so we never get to do them when the kids are with us. We are going to 'Ohana and Teppan Edo. Both places my kids aren't fond of. I also have a reservation at Artist Point for our Anniversary, but might change that if we change resorts from Wilderness Lodge. We also have ADRs at Chefs de France to remind us of our trip to Paris last summer.

We have Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Package. And LeCellier just because I was able to get an ADR. :lmao:

By the way, our kids are teens so they can't wait for us to leave!! They would rather we stay longer at Disney. haha Grandma is much easier to get along with, apparently.

I would have to say Le Cellier (great for steaks), I absolutely loved Jiko, and San Angel Inn. As a PP said, San Angel does have a more traditional menu, but my DH still talks about the Mole Poblano he had!

We have no kids yet so all of our trips - so far - are just two adults. Some of our favorites:

The Grand Floridian Cafe is a great option - usually not very crowded, great food, great service, beautiful setting and big windows open out onto the GF courtyard grounds. Breakfast, lunch, dinner... it's all good. Take the boat to the MK after eating, or to the GF if you are in the MK.

Kona Cafe for breakfast - real coffee, relaxing Hawaiian music, good food.

Jiko is our favorite signature meal. Cali Grill is nice once but over-rated, IMHO. If it were not on the top floor of the Contemp it would not be nearly as popular. Noisy, busy, hectic, etc. Good food, though. Not better than any of the other high end places on property.

For burgers the Sci-Fi Dine-In at DHS is a great burger, fries, and shake place. I wouldn't get anything else there, though.

We loved our dinner at Tutto Italia if you want more pasta.

Sunshine Seasons in Epcot is the best counter service place in WDW - lots of options and generally quite good. Almost a CS on steroids/baby TS. Better than some TS we've had.

In the MK if you like seafood the Columbia Harbour House has great CS food and there is extra seating upstairs and you can sit by a window overlooking the Haunted Mansion, Fantasyland view, or towards the Riverboat that a lot of people don't know about. HM is DW's favorite so we get lunch or dinner and go find a table with a window view of the HM for her. :)

Since you are without the kids I would go for " Bistro de Paris " in Epcot
Very adult oriented with wonderful food and wine

Have fun

Edit= Grilled Beef Tenderloin for him
Not much in the way of pasta for you but may I suggest Seared Sea Scallops instead

We stayed at Boardwalk last week and had the kids with us, but every time we passed by Flying Fish my husband and I oogled the food we saw on the plates and promised that if we ever traveled to Disney alone we'd eat there for a nice dinner. It's a little more upscale but not stuffy, and also very 'adult' with not so many children.
