Doing a bit of last minute planning, we have got crystal palace and donald's breakfastosaurus and chef mickey's booked, we are staying off site at Lake Buena Vista just wondered where you all recommend, last time we liked Race Rock, Planet Hollywood and Golden Corral, not so keen on Ponderosa, we want to try a few different places this time and thought you lot would come up with some suggestions, there are 9 of us in the group with children aged 1 to 8 if that makes a difference and i like steak and we aren't seafood lovers.
many thanks:thumbsup2

There's a really good Denny's (best steak we had last trip) at the bottom of Palm Parkway on the SR535 and very close to that there's a couple of steak restaurants close by too some just close to the Comfort Inn and next to Goodings too:) Steak"n" Shake got a big thumbs up too it's just up the SR535 nice friendly staff and the food cooked how you like it amazing burgers and steaks there and locals go there too.

You are close to the Ale house at LBV www.alehouseinc.com
You can download their menu. last week Mother in law had fish and chips, it came with 8 pieces of fish and a basket full of chips, hush puppies, tartar sauce and coleslaw for $7.95. Last August we ordered the starter of Chicken Nachos, they come layered with chicken and cheese, its a mountain, we were totally stuffed, 3 of us for $9 no way could we eat a main course. Been here 4 times now and never heard another british accent, mostly where Americans eat and drink, If you are walking there they have a lot of specials on drinks, Pitcher of beer $5, Fosters $2/pint alchopops 5 for $5.95 etc
For a cheap meal in the Crossroads area Cici's Pizza, www.cicispizza.com $3.99 all you can eat ($4.49 at other locations). They have 16 pizzas, pasta, salad and dessert, not quality dining but we love it for a change.

we love Sweet Tomatoes, .................. top of Kirkman road. and the Outback and Tony Romas.
Have fun!!!

I would suggest Outback for good steaks, Dennys are OK for Breakfast but the best staks on a trip I find odd. Chevys are OK for Mexican there is one at Lake Buena Vista

1900 park fare is a lovely restaurant at disney grand floridian, something for everyone.

we liked the rainforest cafe we tried both of them, planet hollywood has really nice food aswell.
sci-fi dine was ok but the menu was basic i thought not enough choice.ohana's was lovely

I loved Chef Mickeys - went over Xmas. Would suggest Bahama Breeze (SR535). I also like Wolfgang Pucks at DTD.

Bahama Breeze is excellent, also there is a great Chinese buffet called the Dragon Court opposite the Orlando ale house at LBV

Tony Roma's is tasty

Hollywood and Vine in Disney MGM has a good range of decent buffet food. Nothing like Ponderosa, much better quality. Cavery style. With kids, you know they can get bored waiting for food, so here is ideal.

I found Cici's Pizza a horrid place to be honest, but pizza loving kids should love it.

Sweet Tomatoes is a nice change when you get bored of constant stake/chicken and fries!

The problem with Orlando for us was, finding somewhere which offered more than stake/burger and fries!

Lots of locals use CiCi's Pizza and they think it's great value, we didn't try it bud did use one recommended by the hotel Flippers, they were good hot and reasonable prices.BTW there's a Domino"s and Pizza Hut very close by!!

Thanks everyone, i look forward to trying some of them, just going to have a look at where some of them are and menu's etc.:thumbsup2

Another vote for Rainforest Cafe (Downtown Disney) :thumbsup2 ..a must if you have kids !!!:goodvibes

I think we'll definately try Ale House and maybe outback and cici's, kids love pizza, where are the crossroads?
I've heard of Tony Romas where abouts is that?
Had a look at sweet tomatoes but DH doesn't like salad or pasta so probably best to avoid that one.
What is the rainforest cafe at Animal Kingdom like? We are going to AK for DS 3rd birthday and i think the kids would love that restaurant so could go there when the park closes, would we have to book or wait until the day when we get to the park?
Had a bad meal at Denny's last time so that has put us off there i'm afraid however i'm sure that was just a one off.

If you google you will find maps and other info on the area.

Don't rule out Sweets Toms. I am the biggest meat eater ever, I could not contemplate a meal without meat until I tried Sweet Toms. The soups are delicious and I dont eat soup elsewhere.
Go lunchtime if you dont want to do your main meal, it costs about £4 each for all you can eat. Water free or unlimited Soda an extra £1.

Edits: Kids are only about £2.50

Another one for Sweet Tomatoes. we also tried the Pizzeria Uno or the Uno Pizzeria (can't remember which way round) at the Crossroads at LBV.

One more question, sorry, does anyone know of a good restaurant to eat in on the way home from Busch Gardens if we wait until we get back to LBV area the kids will be asleep!
