What restaurant NOT to miss?

We have made Ohana and Chef Mickey's must stops for all our trips. The Polynesian food is awesome at Ohana! The first time we went we made the mistake of eating too much of the wonderful appetizers. Save rooms for the fantastic skewers of shrimp, beef, and chicken. Chef Mickey's is a much lighter atmosphere, but a very good buffet. Our girls love the food and characters too!

I like going to the Columbia Harbour House (not for the food or the fact that I worked there but) because the upstairs seating area includes a room that bridges over the walkway between Fantasyland and Liberty Square. Sitting up there provides an excellent spot to people watch as they pass below.

Fulton Crab House is wonderful in DV. The there's Narcoosi's at the GF. Thdey;ve got a hellova challenge for a free meal. You've got to have an appetite though. That's my 34 cents.

Cinderella's Royal Table is nice because of the ambiance, get reservations though. Boma is AWESOME, the waiter we had made it the most special meal. Prime time, ask for someone outgoing, it is fun and good but our waitress didn't really play much at all. The Lands at Epcot has a great variety and if you go right before they close, you can get the last of the stuff, some fruit and things, all still good, at discount or free if you ask. The Villian store at MGM has a candy shop next to it, I can't remember the name, for about 5$ you get huge apples covered in chocolate, caramel or candy and you can have sprinkles, chocolate and peanut butter chips or nuts on top. SOOO good and great right before Fantasmic!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Chefs de France in EPCOT. One word: Raspberry Cheesecake!!!!!

Let me just say it is THE BEST anywhere - and I happen to know since I won the Richmond State Fair for my cheesecake. It's better than winning the lottery, hey it's better than sex.

When I was there last January '03, a family from New York didn't believe me when I said how good it was. Well, I offered the patriarch a taste of mine. When the waitress came back to take their order, he told her to bring 2 whole cheesecakes first with lots of forks. He was SO nice, he picked up the tab for my dinner.

Since he showed me a random act of kindness - the next night I picked up a couple's dinner tab. I'm hoping to start a trend - sort of like a surprise tagging.

What do you think?

very kind thoughts and acts. Raspberry Cheesecake that mimics (or exceeds) NY's? that's hard to stomach (ha). We have very thick arteries up here from our cheese cake, let alone the mozzerella, etc etc. Okay, you've convinced me to try it. I'll give an honest report afterward.

Having just returned from WDW - my suggestion to all:

Unless you want to spend q couple of days in the hospital - avoid Casey's Corner in the MK.

On Feb 12th, I ate there. Had the hot dog with sauerkraut, relish, & mustard. At 6pm I started throwing up. By 10pm I had called 9-1-1 and was taken to the worst hospital in the world - Celebration.

There I spent 9 hours waiting in the ER waiting room with 6 other people (who also were throwing up among other "things" from Casey's Corner). Final diagnosis - food poisoning. I ended up losing over 4 days of my trip because I spent it in bed - unable to move and unable to eat.

Atkins Diet be darned - Casey's Corner is the "Disney" diet. One dog and you'll be barfing for days!

Let's see...

At MK- our never miss would be Crystal Palace. If you don't have kids or don't want a character meal, I would say the Plaza Restaurant. It's a very relaxing atmosphere and a nice 'break' in the middle of a MK day.

Epcot-- Our never miss is either of the choices in Mexico (either the sit-down or the counter service), but it sounds like you are already on to that.

MGM-- our never miss is Pizza Planet because DD and I LOVE Toy Story. LOL! Not sure what else to recommend there. We had good experiences at ABC Commissary and Sci Fi looks great (although we haven't made it there yet).

AK-- We haven't actually eaten at the AK one, but I would list Rainforest Cafe as a don't miss. Every time we've eaten at one (DTD or other non-Disney ones), we've had an outstanding meal. We also love Pizzafari.

If you are going for an anniversary, I would second the suggestion to try California Grill at the Contemporary.

If you are spending a day in the MK and want really good, inexpensive food - take the boat over to Ft. Wilderness and eat at the Trails End Buffet. (all you can eat).

Great selection of food. The fried chicken is the best ever. It's nice and relaxing to take the boat. The restaurant is a short walk. You're back in the MK in no time and ready for round two of the park. Also if you go for a late lunch, you won't even want dinner.

Time saving - inexpensive - great food - We do this every trip.

Another vote for Le Cellier in Epcot! We had a wonderful meal here in Aug 2003. Be sure to try the cheese soup with the pretzel bread. The Garden Grill is excellent there too.

In MK, we really enjoyed the often-overlooked Plaza Restaurant. They have wonderful sandwiches (the club is to die for), and their ice cream is the best (better than Ghiradelli's, IMO).

No restaurants really stand out in AK or MGM, but as far as resort restaurants go, the Whispering Canyon Cafe in WL is great. Big portions for those who love to eat, and the food is delicious!

This thread is making me hungry! Hope you find some great places to eat on your trip.

Can't wait to try some of these ' Don't miss!' Think we will miss Casey's Corner though after the previous stories.
My dh came by and saw what I wrote, and said "Great now all those disney friends of yours are gonna think all I ever do is eat.."
I told him, "But you do like to eat.." and he laughed and said "Well, you don't have to tell everyone!"

And he's just a great-looking guy who runs circles around his family, so it's just fine to try to find him a new 'favorite'.

Thanks for all your help, we're doing the double-digit dance now, so it won't be long. The kids are even saying where they want to eat!

Marrekeesh (sp?) at Morocco was one of the best meals I've had. Its quiet, laid back, with a belly dancer and band! And great food!

I also love Fultons Crab House at DD

The California Grill is wonderful! I think this would be the perfect place for you to celebrate!!! The food and atmosphere makes for one very special evening. With a view of Cinderella's Castle and perfect timing with Wishes fireworks, you will be good-to-go!!! Have a magical time, where ever you decide to celebrate!!!

We rotate between early mornings and late starts depending on our mood. When we start early, we eat non-perishables in the room. When we get a later start, we;ll have a hearty breakfast. At POR, we shared an omlette at Boatwrights and still couldn't finish it.

We did character meals at Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree, both dinner. I thought LT was OK, not really worth $20pp. I thought dinner at CP was the best buffet I've ever had and WELL worth the $20pp.

I also loved the Moroccan place. We split a combo meal and were quite full.

Sick of heavy, fried foods? Get a rotisserie chicken in MK (Cosmic Rays, maybe?).

We always enjoy going to The Sci-Fi Diner as well but our all time
favorite is the liberty tree tavern.... very good!!!
Also love Whispering Canyon at WL(tons of fun there too)

I'd like to know more about Artist Point also. Never been there, haven't looked in either of my books -do you need ressies or ps arrangements? Could we 'pop' over after touring WL and just get coffee and dessert?

We're only going 7 days.....my dh came, he ate, he conquered? LOL

We never miss going to Chefs de France in Epcot's Frech Pavillion!
I am a HUGE fan of food while my husband is just a "normal guy".
It is a great deal for outstanding French food! Where else can you go in the U>S> for a Chef prepared entree with the finest, freshest ingredients for under $25?
Chef's de France is the restaurant located on the ground level, kid-friendly and moderately priced. Upstairs is the Bistro which is much fancier, more romantic, not very kid friendly and higher priced. If it is just the two of you and you really ENJOY food, splurge and go to the Bistro.
We also always go to dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table at the castle because I MUST have the "GRANDE DUKE"! (that's the name of my favorite entree--seriously!!LOL!)It is a fillet mignon that is grilled to perfection and served with a stilton potato quiche that is better than !@*#^@! I asked for the quiche recipe and they gave it to me on Castle Stationary!!!!!!(I LOVE to cook as much as I LOVE to eat!)

I have always wanted to go to the Chef's table at Victoria and Alberts in the GF but have never done so.....if you have the chance, I have heard that it is not to be missed!
