We're staying at POR and our first day after flying in the night before is park-free. Our girls are 4 yo.

We have a CM very late breakfast at 11am in Contemporary and then a 5pm dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

Any suggestions on resorts to visit? I thought Animal Kindom Lodge sounds like fun? Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Ela

There are lots of great Savannah viewing areas at AKL and the lobby is very large and full of cool artifacts. Although some of it may be of little interest to the young ones, who wouldn't want to see the exotic animals?

I agree that AK is nice. If you are at Chef Mickey's for breakfast, take the monorail back to MK and get a bus to AK lodge. Don't forget to visit outside in the back to see animals, and then you can see them by going down the hallways to rooms and watching for animals at the large window areas/couches. Flamingos are "aplenty" outside in the back as well ... and you could have snacks at Mara ... and visit the store with all the fun African items. Then go back and see some more animals!! Get a bus from there back to MK, and use the monorail to go to Park Fare for your dinner. :) ENJOY! sounds so good I'd like to go too!!

Did you know you can do "catch and release" at your own resort?

We like to visit the boardwalk. People watch. Check out all the shops. Rent a bike and ride around. Stop by Beaches and Cream for a sundae!
Good times. Good times.

For kids (and kids at heart), catch-and-release fishing on Ol' Man Island is available at the Fishin' Hole. Open 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., it is stocked with catfish, bass, and blue gill, and a catch is almost guaranteed. Ol' Man Island is also home to a playground, where the little ones can burn off some energy (if they have any left after a day at the Magic Kingdom!). Craft activities, organized by Cast Members, are held near the pool on some days. If you're visiting during a holiday period, you may even find special activities such as an Easter egg hunt.
