What really makes you happy at Disney?

Everytime I walk through the gates of the Magic Kingdom I instantly become a child. I can be silly. I can enjoy the corny jokes. I can dance in the middle of the street or even sing along with the music. It just does not matter. I love being there.

Going to Disney is an all encompassing sensory explosion. I even love the ,at times lengthy, busrides--gives me time to reflect on the day's joy. Just the sounds of laughter & music...the scents of popcorn & candy... the visuals, oh my-- are stunning...I absorb it all. It is a much needed break from the strain of everyday life where one can let loose and have a blast!
Love it! :cloud9:

This is a really cool thread :) I feel that Disney has a special Magic to it and that makes me happy :) It's hard to explain this special magic, but I feel that special magic when I walk into the magic kingdom or when I walk into my hotel room at the AllStarMovies :goodvibes

Also I am still a cute little 6 foot 3 child so DisneyWorld makes me happy :p I love all the child like icons at the value resorts and I love to have a cute little stuffed animal set up by my window at my hotel room :goodvibes I also enjoy walking around and looking adorable in my Flower shirts when I am in DisneyWorld  I also enjoy Suzy and Perla :)

When Suzy and Perla are at the Magic Kingdom I like to get pictures taken with them and I go to the 1900 park fair to have dinner there all the time, because I want have a cute little character meal with Suzy and Perla :goodvibes I Love Suzy and Perla :cloud9:

So I enjoy the simple things at DisneyWorld :) I am a Disney Child :goodvibes Here is a picture of me with Suzy and Perla and it shows that I am a simple little disney child :) :goodvibes :p  :cloud9:

Just being at WDW makes me happy. :cool1: I also enjoy the anticipation that goes with planning a trip to WDW. :)

Seeing the look on my son's face as we drive under the "Walt Disney World" archway, then getting a big hug from him!!! And of course, hugging Pleakly in Tomorrowland!!!!! :goodvibes

dh ds, and i have been on many vacations but, last year was our first time to wdw (he had been years ago a few times as a teen). it was the first time on vacation that i really got to see my dh relax. watching him be a kid again brought tears to my eyes on more then one occasion. (that and seeing ds experience it all)
dh has a very stressful position(which he loves) at the company he works for, plus we have our own business too. we only brought my cell phone to the parks with us (shut off but for an emergency if need be) dh left his in the safe at pop. i checked his messages for him and only had him reply back to 2 that were, bottom falling out at work ones.
to see my dh sit and people watch with not a care in the world, sealed the deal that wdw was where we would return to for our next family vacation. so jan 2007 we are headed back, and dh is amped to go. doesn't hurt he is doing the full experience at richard petty to boot, lol.

Sitting on the beach at the Poly waiting for the Water parade and the fireworks.
Munching on a Mickey Ice Cream bar!
Seeing Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland as you approach MK for the first visit of your trip.
Letting your heart be a child again as you watch the evening shows in the parks.

riding the monorail

Seeing Disney World every week takes a lot of the magic away. But there is one thing that always brings it back. And that is seeing the people who are here on vacation and their look of wonder, their smiles and how much their are enjoying being in "my" backyard.

I was trying to buy some dinner at MGM the other night and I was getting annoyed by the long lines and people's indecisiveness (you've been looking at the limited menu for the last 10 minutes, surely you have made a decision by the time you get to the register!) but suddenly all of my tension went away when the lady across from me had a huge smile on her face while interacting with the CM at the register. She was just ordering food, but she was totally into the magic, into her experience, enjoying every detail. It's hard to describe, but the twinkle in her eyes made me realize how lucky we all are to have a place like Disney World to make our troubles just disappear for a few hours.

I LOVE the sound of my children's laughter when they are on their favorite rides; especially my 8 yr old DS (who is autistic). What great big bellylaughs!! :rotfl2:

The look on my 3 yo's face when all the characters are together.

Watching the flag retreat at the MK, listening to our national anthem and seeing a veteran salute the flag. Brings a tear to my eye every time.

Having ressies for a meal at any park before it opens and feeling like you have the park to yourself.

Hearing my daughter ask "Are we going to Mickey's house today?" This is what she calls the MK.

And how can I forget..........Now hearing "Welcome Home" when we arrive.

A hot dog from Casey's whilst waiting for a parade to begin.

I love the first time I hand the keys over to the valet.

Walking into my room for the first time and seeing my home for the next 2 weeks.

Swimming in the wee hours of the morning with DH at the AKL pool and having it all to ourselves.

The way that we relax like we don't do anywhere else for two whole weeks.

Watching Richard laugh at the bottom of Splash Mountain.

Riding Buzz as many times as we want first thing.

Seeing Carosel of Progress is open. :)

Letting someone else do all of the cooking and cleaning for two weeks.

Coming home to the AKL after a day out in the parks.

Watching kids having a good time, especially when we get to travel with my 2 nieces.

All of the lovely CM's, and how hard they work to give you a wonderful vacation.

Being up early in the morning and the way it's all quiet and the air seems so perfect and no one else is around.

Seeing any of the characters out and about.

Watching Wishes from anywhere in the MK, the Polynesian beach, or a Wishes cruise.

Floating around either of the lazy rivers.

The music everywhere you go.

Anyone else want to share their happiest moments? I am missing being at WDW in a BIG way today!! Reading what others love is a way of living the magic! So please....more happy Disney moments? :)

Sitting on the bench facing the lake at Germany with one of their yummy pretzels in hand.

Watching Tower of Terror, and hearing the riders scream thier heads off when the doors open up at the top.

Driving into WDW and seeing that big banner that welcomes you to WDW.

Riding TTA/BTMR/Splash Mt at night...so gorgeous!!! :lovestruc

Knowing that all my friends are stuck in a stuffy classroom while I'm at the Happiest Place On Earth (lol. That's mean, I don't feel that way. I always wish they were there with me!!)

:sunny: While I'm at work day after long day, thinking about my trip in June coming up is sometimes the only thing that keeps me going.........finally getting there and seeing the CBR sign makes me cry..........the smell of Florida........hearing the Disney bus for the first time.......the smell in spaceship earth..........the twinkling lights in the cement in Epcot.........the musical fountains in Epcot........the hustle and bustle of Main Street.......and the fact that I keep thinking that I am very lucky to be there and I am glad that my first trip there reeled me in, in such a way that I have something wonderful to look forward to each year,in other words,I'm addicted! YES!

ok...let's see...

I love that first glance of the castle, but I think I already posted that.

I really enjoy planning the trip, in fact, we will not be going again until Dec 2007 and I am already planning.
My kids think I am crazy, but they love to go too.

Geez..I guess I can be pretty thankful that we all love to go. My DH who will be 46 this year, me, almost 44 our DD 20 and our boys 9 and 12.
They may like to go to Universal next time also, but want to spend the majority of our time at WDW.

We did something right!! LOL!!

Oh! Finding people from our hometown!! How could I forget that!?
We always run into someone from Ohio and have to talk about where we are from. Last time it was the security guard who checked our bags, he went to college at Ohio Wesleyan and then a CM at MGM had graduated from OSU.
It's great to see people from back home, and they are excited as we are~!
Lisa

walking up to the turn style, AT MK, putting my ticket through, and standing on the other side of the turn style, turning toward DW and saying we're HERE !!!
