First, make sure they get renters insurance. The landlord's insurance will only cover the property, NOT the tenants belongings.
They should ask all the above good questions that everyone else has raised.
They should also ask "Who is responsible for Yard work, shoveling, etc?" I know that around here, in a multifamily (typically 3 story, 3 apartment home) tenants are often responsible for shoveling/plowing the driveway and sidewalk and sometimes even for lawnmowing, raking, etc. They should make sure that whatever is stated by the landlord is in the lease.
Furthermore, who has access and use of the yard? In the multifamily situation, your daughter may find that some other tenant has children with toys all over the yard who think that the yard is 'theirs'. Make sure this sort of thing is clear ahead of time.
