What questions do you ask before renting?

I have narrowed my search for a townhouse in Windsor Hills down and was getting ready to send a list of questions to the owners. What questions do you ask?

I'd suggest:

How much?
Pool Heat costs?
Cleaning fee costs?
Checkin and check out times?
Wifi access and password?
Arrival time and guidance on how to get to WH then access the resort through the main gates?
Management Company contact details and what you should contact them for?
Tips/Guidance on using the facilities at Windsor Hills (they are first class)?

Those probably cover the main things.

I'd want to know the cancellation policy.

The place I rented from last year asked the guests to wash the sheets and towels before they left. That wasn't convenient when we were trying to catch a plane in the early morning.

You might want to know if any basic supplies are included, such as dish washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, paper towel, etc. This varies a lot.

is the place clean if not who do you call for another unit or get a good cleaning.

take pictures if the room is not clean
