Hi all,

we are going to WDW July /August 2014 and wondered what everyone is expecting to pay for direct with BA or VA. We are booked direct with Disney UK from 23rd July - 12 August. OKW

We need to go from Gatwick or Heathrow.

Looks like BA is currently £950 per adult. would you book or wait for VA prices or a sale.

We have been many times before and never paid this much for economy.

your thoughts are appreciated.

BW
Jon :)

We are flying out next August and would prefer to fly direct and preferably with VA,but being summer holidays it's premium prices,we have budgeted for £850 pp,any more than that then it will be indirect.Ive decided if I see £850 I will book and I will give it until the end of February until I start to look at the alternatives.

I considered DIY for next August but ended up getting a package where the flights worked out £822 so decided to book that. I'm sure I could have done cheaper indirect but prefer direct whileever the girls are pre teens - once they're older I'll look at in-direct

We've booked for a direct flight for Aug 2014, from MAN to MCO and paid £875 p/p with Thomas Cook

We got a quote from VA about a month ago and it would have cost us £1100 p/p for a fly drive, can't justify nearly £1000 for a basic car when I can get a SUV for just under £500 separately

Jon, a lot of folk on here are reporting some good August prices with Thomas Cook direct to MCO. It's not pricing up great for me but could be the airports I'm looking at (Scotland) however it may be worth a look :)

Hiya, we have just booked up for next August with Thomas Cook flying from Manchester direct to Orlando, 2 x Adults & DD (8) we paid total £2247 inc baggage and leg room seats, we were flexi between the 19/7 - 18/8 looked for a good few weeks and this was about the best deal we could find, we did speak to CO who advised Virgin & BA direct would be around £2800 unless we flew after the 18th August would be around £2400ish..

Thanks for the replies.

Perhaps £950 is going to be the going rate then from Gatwick with BA/VA

At least the food's free:goodvibes

We paid just over £1000 with VA for August this year flying premium economy. I did book the minute they came out to get them for that price.

That's not bad for PE - especially for August. VA is not on my long list right now. My June/July prices are averaging around 670 at the moment but I frequently get a pop up ad on the screen letting me know that I can click to book the selected dates and route with VA for 1080 per passenger - economy :scared1:

We paid £650 for ba (aa flights) this August 18th - 4th sep that was indirect via Miami - left at 9.45 and arrived at MCO at 17.20 and it included car hire

We paid £730 this year (got back yesterday) with Ba direct to Tampa. Do check out Tampa as it can (not always) work out cheaper. When we booked the flights in September last year it was £1000 cheaper than flying to MCO. Immigration took 15 minutes and it was a beautifully clean airport. 1hr 15ish to Orlando x

Good luck

Does £645 for June sound a lot? Kayak is still saying 'wait' and thus far they have been pretty spot on as the prices started around the 700 mark and are slowly ebbing down. I really don't know if I should just bite the bullet. I had not wanted to spend more than 600 per person and felt this wasnt an unreasonable expectation, but quite frankly I'm getting fed up devoting every free moment searching .....

Aaaaargh! Need to vent here because you guys will understand :rolleyes2

Flights came up tonight at £600. Great! I will book them. Stuck them in the basket and then realized I would have to check about leave dates with a co-worker. Messaged her and she got right back to me saying "Go for it!!" Proceeded to payment page and they shot up to £675! Now I know why I like the approach "It's easier to say sorry than to ask for permission!" :furious:

Gutted for you! I'd be so mad just don't know how prices can change so quick!!

Lol, you know, I can't do anything but laugh now because it's not like I didn't know that this happens. I got in quick last year and booked flights at a stupidly low price and when I went back to link someone on the DIS there, not 5 minutes after booking, they were all up over £100! But I was seething in the moment tonight :lmao: I'm more annoyed that they were sitting at a little over £500 during the BA sale but my return date opened up the day after the sale ended and while I can shift dates later, I can't leave any earlier, so such is life.

Now, because of my wonderful attitude and willingness not to harbor any anger at the world in general, said world owes me some good prices for being so mature about it (after stomping downstairs in a huff a few hours ago, muttering to myself while looking for a bottle of wine :rotfl:)

We just booked 18th Aug next year for £698 pp direct from Gatwick to Orlando. This is the cheapest we have ever managed to book flights, considering they are not released with Virgin yet, I thought it was good?

We paid £740 each direct with BA to MCO from Gatwick. That is to fly tomorrow and return on 3rd Sept. Booked in Feb. However we had to buy another ticket as DD decided to join us, we bought her ticket in May and it was £881.

It was actually cheaper by £300 to buy a flight and car package with BA than just the flight only. I think this may have been because DS was a teenager and gets a reduced price as part of the package deal. Seemed mad to me but I booked it anyway!:cool1:
