DS just came to me crying, he said he had something in his nose. At the time he had his finger there so I joked about that, thinking it wasnt really anything. Come to find out he put one of those 1/2 inch rings that go around the electric toothbrushes up there and it was stuck. I finally got him to blow it out, thank God, but I am ROFL at him!
What would posess a 6 year old to put ANYTHING up his nose?

He must be from my family!!! My brother stuck a currant up his nose, my niece put a popcorn kernel up hers, and I decided up my nose would be an excellent place to put a kernel of feed corn.:D You might want to check out both sides of the family tree...;)

LOL!

I'm glad he was able to get it out! That reminds me of DS when he was 2. He came to me at 2 a.m. (climbed out of the crib because he couldn't sleep) & said "Hey, Momma, my nose is looking at you!" He'd climbed to the TOP of the side-by-side refrigerator (ala Spiderman) & gotten down a magnet with those wiggly eyes on them. He pulled one off & stuffed it up his nose. Being 2, I couldn't get him to blow it out & we ended up in the ER where the nurse LOST it. It all worked out "in the end" several days later. ;)

He's now 22, about to get married in June & still thinks body humor is great. I'll never understand boys/men! ;)

My son decided to put a raisin up his nose when he was 3. When I called the doctor to see what to do..they suggested a turkey baster (forcing air up the other nostril which would hopefully blow it out the other one). I probably looked pretty funny trying to get it out that way...which didn't work!

I decided to take him to the emergency room. I couldn't help but laugh when I got to the triage nurse and had to tell her why I was there. She thought it was quite comical as well.

We were sitting in the room when all of a sudden he just blew it out.

What a night!

ROFL! These are great stories, everyone.
I thought DS had learned his lesson a couple years ago when he put bubble gum up there and DH freak out because he thought his brains were leaking out his nose, but I guess he forgot about that incident. :teeth:

When DD was three and still a little 'scared' of the doctor visit, her pediatrician was checking her ears and said "OOOOOHHHHH, I see a little green pea growing in there!" We thought that she was trying to 'lighten the mood' a little for my DD but nooooooooooooooo........there was an ex-frozen green pea in her ear! Pediatrician sent us to an ENT who had to use special tools to remove it. Best part of the story - I hadn't had frozen peas in the house so, to this day, we don't know how it got there!

:teeth: These stories are great!

"Hey, momma, my nose is looking at you!" -- LMBO!!

My mom loves to tell this story: When my niece, Ashley, was three or so, my Mom gave her a Tic Tac...Ash had never had one before and asked what she was supposed to do with it. I was 16 and full of sarcasm, so I told her "Duh, put it up your nose". Well, she did. Waaaay up there. Her mom and mine tried like heck to get that thing out of her nose...poor little thing was laying on the kitchen island with her mom and grandma poking at her nose! She cried SO hard. My sister called the "Ask A Nurse" hotline for help and the nurse told her not to worry, if it melts in the heat of your mouth it will melt in the heat of your nose. And, it did. So I replied "Duh, it will melt by itself". :p

The WILDEST thing I have ever seen put up a kids nose was

You know those little plastic capsules you put in water then out comes a sponge shaped like a dinasaur, a fish, a plane etc..

Well a friends son complained that he was having trouble breathing etc.. then she notice swelling near the bridge of his nose that just kept getting worse.. well the pain got bad so she took him to the ER.. the doc had to put the little guy out so he could remove one of those sponge capsules that had disolved and was opening as the sponge toy.. oh yuck.. the infection that kid had.. what a mess... thank goodness he was fine after some medication helped clear up the infection. Kids do the strangest things.....

My ds put a broken plastic piece of a toy up his nose. I knew something was up there when his nose started to bleed. DD was always putting things up her nose. Crayons were her favorite. She used to put the broken pieces up her nose. When she was really little, I used to have to pin her on the ground and use the tweezers to pull things out.

When I was little I put a bean up my nose and I was afraid to tell my mom. It was up there so long it started to sprout.

My niece stuck a bunch of noodles from Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup up her nose when she was 2. My MIL had a great time digging all that out.

LOL! That remindes me of my mother's story. When she was growing up, she used to roll up embroidery floss and stick it in her nose! Strange!

The funny part of this story is that at age 60, she sneezed really hard one day, and out came something she couldn't identify. On closer inspection, it turned out to be rolled up yellow embroidery floss! She said it must have been in there for 50 years!!!

For real Diane???

These are so funny - scary, yet funny at the same time!

We were on our first WDW vacation when my son was almost 2..he decided to stick a piece of Mickey confetti up his nose..he was soooo miserable, eyes watering, nose running, crying..he really had it in there good..we were eating dinner at the Rainforest Cafe at the time and spent the entire time trying to get it out..they finally had to call the ambulance because we could not even see it, let alone get it out..at this point everyone thought that I was crazy and there was nothing up there..the ambulance came and couldn't do anything to help so we just had to hope that it would eventually come out on its own..well, guess what came out his MOUTH 2 weeks later???!!! I still cringe every time I see that @$%^& confetti!!!!;)

Two years ago we were getting ready to go to Thanksgiving dinner. All of a sudden DD started screaming that she had a golf ball stuck in her nose. We were like ???? and I made her blow into a kleenex. Her nose started bleeding so we went to the ER. They used a brand new tool made specifically for nose retrieval. After several attempts out came a Barbie sized golf ball that went with her "Ken the golfer" doll. There were lots of hole in one jokes and laughs from the very bored staff who stood around watching the new procedure.

The ER doc told me that LOTS of kids think of their nose as the perfect spot to store small objects. DD was in good company. ;)

When my son was two years old and we were on his first trip to Disney, he stuck a small piece of foam rubber up his nose. We didn't know he had done it. We did notice that he had HORRIBLE breath. We were constantly brushing his teeth while we were down there. We had NO idea that something up his nose could make him have bad breath. When we got home we took him to the doctor and sure enough he pulled out the foam rubber. He also had to take antibiotics because of infection. It was a quick cure for bad breath.

When my little sister was about 2, ( now 33), she stuck some cotton up her nose... but no one knew it... she just smelled bad and my other sister and I kept telling mom-- Ooh gross, get her away ( I know, I feel badly now!) So, mom takes her to the doctor, he finds the cotton.. or should I say now rotten cotton!
She was fine. LOL

Just the other week, I come home from work and my DH says... "don't want you to worry, but Brian ( age 7) just put some string up his nose.. "
He then says, "we couldn't get it and he ended up swallowing it.!!!!"
Ok, I understand where it may come out.. but really, string THERE... just hope it got wadded up.. ;)
