We are not hopper fans. We prefer to stay in one park. In the past we have used the 10 day ticket for 3 MK days, 3 EP days, 2 HS days, and 2 AK days. I think this is about right. However, we are traveling in late November this time and absolutely love Osbourne Lights. Thinking perhaps of changing the 3 days to HS. Or even perhaps making MK 4 days. Curious to see how you all would split a 10 day one-park-per-day ticket and why?

We have 10 day tickets this year and plan 4MK, and 2 at each other. MK just has so much to do! and it's august so not full days each day.

I chose the 1st option but only if not doing park hopper. :) Kali River Rapids is one of my favorite rides though so I'm biased! ;) We do park hopper mainly because we like to sample different cuisines and just can't seem to lock down a park per day. Have an amazing trip 10 days sounds heavenly! :D

My choices don't match the poll, so here goes:

3 MK
3 AK
3 EP
1 DHS

DHS is my least favorite park, so only need one day there. AK and MK tie for my favorite, with EP close behind.

But, OP, trust your instincts! If Osbourne Lights seem like a big draw, do more DHS. Or plan accoring to your wants right now, then change later!

I cast my vote but I can't imagine going for 10 days without hopping capability.:crazy2:

Interesting Day-Day. We bought park-hoppers on our first visit and never used them. The girls are getting older so it might be time to try but overall we find getting anywhere from park-to-park or park-to-resort takes forever in WDW.

I voted but in over 30 years and over 20 visits we've never been without hoppers, can't imagine not having the option to go to another park if we wanted

4 MK, 3 EP, 2 AK, 1 HS but it wasnt an option.

Get hoppers, cost is spread out on a 10 day plus you can see Osborne lights several times, HS is a half day park now.

I Definitely haven't been that many times and maybe that's why you need the hoppers - I assume you no longer do "everything" at every park, cherry-picking your well established favorites. (Correct me if I'm wrong!)

Like the OP, we've gotten hoppers once and basically used them just to say they weren't wasted and have been non-hoppers ever since. I try to figure why I'd need them & don't really get it - I've never been standing in any WDW park and just thought "there's nothing I find at all interesting here, I think I need to leave now". We always leave because we're too pooped to continue or because the park is closing and they won't let me stay ;)

Is it possible to explain hopping love to a non-hopper?

PS. I would do 3 EP and MK, 2 each DHS and AK

There is direct transportation between all parks. We find it to be pretty quick.

There are a lot of times when hopping comes in handy. One example is that 1 morning in Epcot is fine, we like to have about 4 evenings there. Walking around the World Showcase is the best way to spend an evening.

Also, Animal kingdom often closes early. Why just go back to the hotel when you could hop to another park?

Another advantage is that if you're staying onsite, you can take advantage of morning EMH and then hop to another park when it gets busy.

And sometimes you want more than one day in a specific park, but less than 2. We find that 1 day at DHS is not enough, but we're done by the middle of the 2nd.

Hopping just adds a tremendous amount of flexibility to your plans. We've done it both ways - hopping works better for us.

I don't usually do PH either but longer trips it really works best to have them. The first few days are ok w/o PH but by the end we might want to go to AK in the AM and then hop to DHS for F!. Or have dinner at Epcot on a non Epcot day (our favorite restaurants are at Epcot). We usually do 2 days at MK, 2 at Epcot and 1 each at AK & DHS, so if we stay longer than that we get hoppers.

Nope, don't cherry pick favorites, we actually try to do something new every trip and goodness knows it would be impossible to see and do everything no matter how many times you went. For us, it's a matter of just what we feel like doing at any given time. If there are EMH at night, we tend to ride just about everything we "must" do during that time in any specific park. After that anything else we do in the park is just do on a whim sort of thing. If there are no EMH at night, we book FP for around 9:30 or 10 for those "must" do things and again after that it's whim time. Our whim might be, you know what, it's too crowded in this park today, let's head over to that one and see what is going on. Or maybe we've gone back to our resort for a rest and decided to go to another park in the evening. Of maybe today we did AK, which closes early and after supper aren't ready to call it a day and decide to head over to Epcot and walk around. We did this from the very first though, we've never been the sort of commando type people, and in the beginning we started going for no less than 6 nights, 7 days. With only two parks at the time, you almost had to park hop (we are not water park people). We went every other year in the beginning because it took me 2 years to save the money to stay on site. Now that DS is grown up and married I can afford to go more often if I wish. It does help that you know you will most likely be back so you don't feel pressured to pack it all in. We just would feel too tied down to know we could only go to one park on any given day.

We always do 3 MK, 3 Epcot, 2 AK and 2 DHS.....we have APs and very rarely hop.
We usually go for 14 days and spend a day arriving, a couple non park days.

We have usually done 4 MK, 3 EP, 2 DHS & 1 AK.

Considering dropping 1 DS to have 4 EP this year as the park doesn't offer as much as it once did and tiering limits how much we can accomplish. One of Epcot days will be July 4 so that will be limited by crowds so thinking might add another day as we're staying at BC and so easy to pop over for a visit.

However, we do enjoy Fantasmic at night and now Frozen fireworks so I understand not wanting to miss out on nighttime entertainment but also not wanting to purchase hoppers. For you, I suggest keeping your 2 DHS and maybe adding one day to MK and one less at AK ... you can still get a lot accomplished at AK in one day especially using FP without hoppers. MK offers so much more than other parks and best chances of continued FP after first 3.

Good luck in decision.

You should always include an "other" choice. ;)

I would personally pick 5 MK, 1 EP, 2 DHS, 2 AK and I definitely wouldn't spend whole days in the parks many of those days. I would leave the last day or two free of ADR's though so that I could go wherever sounded the most appealing.

Probably not possible.:) The good news for you and for the OP is that you have tried hoppers and know that you don't care for them. People that have tried visits with and without hoppers will at least have a feel for whether they get value out of them.

I can't tell exactly when you are visiting but it looks like it is during a fairly low-crowd period (early December?). I find hoppers to be more helpful during crowded times and longer trips. We can end up cherry-picking towards the end of a long trip.

We can go to a hopefully less crowded park during the day and still go to a show or parade at a different park. This can make a difference depending on special events or shows going on. If the MK has a special event in the evening like Night of Joy, MNSSHP, etc., the park usually has relatively low crowds early in the day; if we aren't planning to participate in the evening event we can go early and hop somewhere else.

You can purchase the hopper option any time during your visit so if you feel the urge after a couple of days in you can splurge on them then. This is not easy for me to do if I'm buying four of them and realize its another $200 or so but for some reason I'm okay with it when spending the money on the initial ticket purchase:o

I can see the appeal of hopping as my kids get older (and are starting to outlast me instead of the other way around!), for very crowded times, and for a longer trip. I usually have 6-7 park days with travel (no park) tacked on, so it's just enough to mostly tackle each park. On a longer trip, I could see wanting another 1/2 at a given park, but not quite needing another full day, so I'd want to hop around. And if I continue to go in party season, it would definitely be helpful to have somewhere to hop to after MK closes early.

Or you could have ADRs at a resort or Downtown Disney instead of a Park. I do like the concept of leaving the last day or two not locked in. With 10 days you should leave feeling like you saw and or did everything you wanted and tried a few new things.

We take long trips (10 park days), and I see the opposite. No need to Hop since we have plenty of time in each park to do what we want without missing anything.

We do 3 MK, 3 EP, 2 HS, and 1 AK, hitting Epcot a 4th, abbreviated time on the day we head home (late flight). That also gives us a full day without a park, which we spend at the resort and DTD.
