Next year will be 12th trip. Been to Disney every time but next year definitely not going (said that this year and ended up with a 14 day ultimate):confused

So will buy Discovery Cove with SW, AQ and BG
Universal and Wet n Wild
Hopefully will get the free LEGOLAND tickets again, really enjoyed it this year.

Whats everyone else doing? Anyone done a trip and not gone to Disney? Only issue is my brothers family coming with my 8 year old nieces. This will only be their 2nd trip so they will want to go to Disney, haven't told them yet but we will still have 8 parks with them.

This year was meant to be relaxing and we ended up going to more parks than ever before. Really want to relax more at Bonnet Creek this time.

the ONLY reason for me to go to orlando is WDW...
if i'm not going to WDW, then i'm not going to Orlando....pretty simple...

i don't expect to go to WDW next year. Probably only after avatarland is completed.

Just US/IOA for us. Been enough times to not want to run around like a loon doing all the parks. We pick 2-4 parks each trip, arrive at opening each morning and leave by the early afternoon, so we still see everything. Afternoons are for relaxing, evenings got eating & drinking! If we want to sleep late the next day, we do - there's always next time. We also book a Disney meal in a hotel, so no tickets needed, and visit DTD if we are not going to WDW.

We're up to our 20th trip this time but it's always WDW first and then other parks as an add on. Our trips are certainly different these days as they are so much more relaxing and we tend to spend longer in the resort and enjoying the pool. We still usually visit a park each day but probably only for a few hours.

This time we're staying onsite again for a couple of nights at Universal and hoping to visit SeaWorld.

We are DVC members so we are obviously big disney people, we do disney every time and alternate the other parks, this year we did seaworld and disney, next year we might do universal and disney, I have to twist hubby's arm to do universal so will see how much twisting I can do ;)

We are doing Disney. Had a year off this year apart from mnsshp

You will have plenty to do.

My non Disney trip report should still be on here- everything but Disney. We did universal sea world bg aquatica legoland and other stuff like showcase of citrus and an airboat ride.

It will be number 16 for me, and number 4 for DS and DW

WDW is, and will be, our main center of interest, but we're not park geeks :p

I must admit that the new FP+ system works well with us. We can go to a park for a couple of hours, even eat there, and still be "guaranteed" to do our must-dos without the need to spend hours in the parks.

So we go for Disney, but not really for the parks, but more to be immersed in the "bubble". Hotels are theme park enough for us. And, to be honest, who needs a space mountain when you can enjoy a lapu lapu or a glowtini, poolside at the poly ? :p

We'll also be doing Universal. Jury's still out on wether to do 2 or 4 days.
We'd book a throwaway room at RPR (or Portofino if we actually intend on sleeping there) for 1 night to get Unlimited Express for 2 days. And maybe repeat that the second week, so we'd get 4 unlimited express days with only 2 nights, while still being booked at OKW with free DDP.

But 2 universal days would be more than enough for me (still trying to decide if DS will cope with the thrill rides, and that will be a decisive factor)

Seaworld, DC and BG, we'll probably give them a miss, since we did them last time with DC dolphin interaction.
We wouldn't do seaworld if we didn't get the tickets as part of a DC booking (along with Busch Gardens)

Legoland might be on our list IF and only if, there is a free tickets deal when we buy universal bonus tickets, if we buy them, if we spend more than 2 days at UNI ... that's a lot of IFs :)

we'll probably do KSC, as DS becomes more and more interested in rockets and space.

But most of all, we'll do Orlando's #1 theme parks ... Premium Outlets and Malls :p

That will be 3 weeks of Florida Time, with a lot of USA and Florida in it, and as little theme parks as possible
we like to have 14 or 21 days ticket to be able to be as flexible as we can.

We don't care if we sleep in. We don't feel like we miss out. It's a vacation, not a commando training :p

we don't set alarm clocks. If we're up early, then we might go to a park for a couple of hours, then go back to the resort, have lunch there (or offsite), then idle in or by the pool, or go shopping, and have dinner at a hotel or inside a park, with a couple of FP+ booked around that meal.

and that's perfectly fine with us.
On our last trip, with a 21 days ticket + 1 (complimentary) 1 day ticket + 2 MNSSHPs and 1 MVMCP (yeah, we were loaded.) we only rode Star Tours, and it's a small world once each, and never even rode Haunted Mansion or splash mountain ... so what ? ... we've done tons of other things.

parks are just a bonus for us, not the reason we go.

We are more Universal people as we have always been more impressed with their way of doing things compared to disney. A couple of our trips have seen us not going anywhere near a disney park - and those have always seemed to be our best ones with regards to having a stress free day.
I sort of get why people like it so much but have also noticed over the years - especially on this board - that once someone is a Disney fan it's very difficult for them to hear anything negative about that brand. So even though forums and message boards all over the net are highly critical of WDW with regards to the way things have slid over the past few years people will keep on going and raving about how great it is - whilst not trying other places to give a fair comparison.

In December we are doing Disney and Clearwater Marine Aquarium (although that's not really a theme park!). We will also head to Longboat Key for the day to the beach and for lunch at Skinnys!

Personally, we have no interest in Universal. We are not HP fans and DD is still too short for most of the coasters so it would mean a lot of rider switching which just isn't why we go on a family holiday plus she would get fed up with it!

SeaWorld we held APs for for a few years and have got a bit bored by it plus I have minor issues with the number of Dolphins that they keep together (this issue was pre-Blackfish which was terrible documentary and if anything made me want to go back to seaworld as the bias was incredible!).

We do go to KSC and we all love that but once per year in enough. I think Legoland might be on the list next summer.

We are doing the same parks as you (minus Legoland) - i.e no Disney at all.

Top 5 parks in Orlando for us - Disney does not feature.

It will be our second trip - first experience was just WDW. This time we are staying 2 nights at Universal and 12 at WDW. My plan is to do Discovery Cove next time. Money dictates what we do but I can see us gradually reducing WDW time in favour of experiencing other Orlando attractions.

We did Clearwater aquarium one trip - Dd really enjoyed it. Well worth a visit for any dolphin tale fans.

ok, so since in a few threads people are mentioning how many times they've been, i decided it's time to actually count them up...

this is only WDW......i've been to Disneyland twice, to tokyo disneyland once, to disneyland paris once...but we're talking WDW..

so here goes (for chronology i'll add in the other disneys, but i won't count them in the total)..

1971 - 1 glorious day at Disneyland (my love for disney parks begins at the age of 16)

1974 - 1 week in Fort Wilderness and 1 week at the Contemporary Resort -
my very first trip to WDW...i was 18 years old (a few weeks before my 19th birthday)...
the end of my first year at university, my best friend and i drove down...
we camped together with her sister for a week in fort wilderness in a pup tent....
then the second week, my family flew down and we stayed in the Contemporary Resort for a week.
Only the Magic Kingdom existed (epcot didn't open until 1982)

1978 - 1 week honeymoon (obviously with DH :) )
by the way, this was still when there were actually ride tickets (A,B,C,D,E)...

1980 - 1 week - DH

1981 - 1 week - DH

1982 - 1 week - DH (shortly after epcot opened for the first time - it opened in 1982)

1984 - Tokyo Disneyland - 1 very interesting and fun day with DH (i was about 7 months pregnant at the time - so DD's first visit to a disney park was even before she was born)

1986 - 1 week with DD as well as my sister and nephews - we stayed at the polynesian resort

1987 - 2 weeks - with DH, DD, DS - DS was only 6 weeks old!!

1988 - 2 weeks - with DH, DD, DS
1988 - 2 weeks - with DH, DD, DS

1989 - 2 weeks - with DH, DD, DS
1989 - 2 weeks - with DH, DD, DS

1990 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS

1991 - 2 weeks - DH, DD, DS

1992 - 2 weeks - DH, DD, DS

1993 - 2 weeks - DH, DD, DS

1994 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS

1995 - 3 weeks - DD, DS

1996 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS

1997 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS

1998 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS

1999 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS
1999 - 1 day at Paris Disneyland

2000 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS

2001 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS

2002 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS (plus a disney cruise)

2003 - 2 weeks - DH, DD, DS

2004 - 4 weeks - DH, DD, DS (6 weeks in the US - 4 weeks in WDW, plus disney cruise, plus disneyland/CA)

2005 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS

2008 - 3 weeks - DH, DD, DS
2008 - 2 weeks - DD
2008 - 1 week - DD

2011 - 1.5 weeks - on my own!!
2011 - 1 week with my mom and sister
2011 - 2 weeks - DH, DD, DSIL, DS, DDIL

2012 - 1/2 week - with my best friend
2012 - 1 week with my mom and sister (plus disney cruise)

2013 - 2 weeks DH, DD, DSIL (plus a cruise)

i think that comes out to 36 visits to WDW...(though i may have left a few out)...

No Disney for us for a few years until they improve things. With all the building work, DTD a mess, overflowing bins etc. We didn't enjoy Disney this year as much. Time to do other things but we will be back in a few years.

Next trip is into Atlanta and 15 days touring around, possibly Dollyland, not even looked what's there yet but we will be in the area.

Trip after that will be hopefully August, 7-10 days travelling between Key West and Orlando then a week doing SW, BG plus other stuff but think that will be it for parks, finish with a 7 day Disney cruise.

Enjoying Disney cruising more than their parks for now.

Agree, we are really getting a taste for the cruises over the parks at the moment. Our children actually prefer the sea to the land. The service on the Disney cruise ships puts the resorts to shame.

Next year we are staying for 5 days at Hard Rock Hotel at Universal, our first trip there since 2010 and 14 days at Old Key West at WDW. For me Universal is a once every 4 or 5 years experience for a few days. I'm not interested in the massive coasters but do enjoy the Harry Potter things and am looking forwards to the new parts at IoA. We will also visit the malls and go to the beaches a couple of days. We have done Discovery Cove several times, Sea World a lot and Aquatica quite a bit too. I have been to WDW almost every year or sometimes more than once in a year for around a decade and personally I don't agree it is going downhill. Sure the current construction work is aggravating, but I don't think one can moan about that and then simultaneously complain that they don't do anything new to keep up with Universal  My most recent visit was May 2014 and I found most cast members to be as magical as ever. There's always one or two every visit that aren't. I haven't noticed it get worse. Generally I find their service outstanding. My main Disney grip is the cost going up so astonishingly over 10 years - madness - but then that's the same for Universal too. I can't comment on the Disney cruises as I've never been on one and have absolutely no desire to. Actually for me, I can't think of anything I'd like to do less than cruise on any cruise line. I appreciate people love them and will vehemently disagree with me, but to me they are just massive floating restaurants. I know you get 'let off' but I like long enough in a location to explore it fully. I am certainly not a blind Disney fan defending them because I have nothing to compare them with. I just like it

On a completely different note. I am logged in on the mobile app but it keeps telling me my permissions are denied. Any clue what I should do = have logged on and off lots of times to no avail :sad2:

Don't know about the app - mine is working fine. Have you tried rebooting your phone?

On the cruise - we had no real interest until recently. We were invited on a 2 night cruise to nowhere and loved it! Now I am looking at booking a short cruise next year out of Southhampton and a Disney Cruise in 2016! TBH we aren't really interested in where it goes we just really enjoyed the ship and all the things to do on there. Sometimes you don't know until you try but we are all different so what one person loves another will hate :goodvibes

every cruise line is different in terms of the type of person who would enjoy the style of that particular cruise line..
so if you ever seriously consider cruising (and it's THE best vacation ever as far as we're concerned), you should do a bit of research first to see which line would best suit you..

for us, there are two cruise lines that 'fit'....Disney Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean....probably Royal fits us just a bit better as there are more on board activities for adults....sort of like camp for adults (all those stupid little fun games like trivia, name that tune, dance that tune, etc etc)...

you can check out the information on cruise critic - they review each cruise line and give you an idea of who each cruise line might be appropriate for (there's also a great book...sort of the bible on cruise lines..Berlitz: Complete Guide to Cruising - but the cruise critic website is also a very good source for information)

No parks for us next year we are getting our Disney fix by spending a week at Aulani in February
