Looking for suggestions. Dh will be taking our teens to HP one day during our summer vacation.
Our resort is BC (we've stayed there before) and we've been to WDW many times.

Six year old dd and I will be staying on Disney property that day and I'm trying to figure out what we should do. Epcot would be easiest because of proximity. MK would be great though, too. I don't plan on rushing around - just doing things she would enjoy.

If weather permits, we'll probably spend some of the afternoon at the BC pool.

What would you plan - any fun ideas that I might not be thinking of? Thanks so much!

I guess it depends what she's into the most, I think if it was me I would think of a few choices based around what she would probably like and then let her choose the option that is most appealing.

I would possibly consider exploring Tom Sawyers Island at MK, spending some time at Rafiki's Affection Section at AK, taking the boat over to Fort Wilderness and having a look at the horses, have a go at the drawing classes at Animation Academy at HS, trying out the Agent P World Showcase mission or Sorcerors of the MK.

I think what is key, is finding something you can spend time enjoying together, most kids of 6 love adults who spend time on them, rather than money on them. Money is nice, but it's your time that makes them happiest.

My 6 year old son could easily spend the day doing the Agent P activity at Epcot. That's probably what I would do with him if it were just the two of us (with some well timed breaks for yummy snacks in World Showcase). When DS was 5, DD got sick. I stayed at the hotel with her and DH took son to AK and they did the Wilderness Explorer activities and that was a huge hit too.

Does she like meeting characters? You could easily spend a full day doing character meets, and I feel like that's something teens would usually want to skip or rush through.

I second what the others have said - come up with a few viable choices that you think she would enjoy and let her pick. Tell her its your special day together and she can choose what to do for the day. Having the choice (and the special one-on-one time with one parent) would be exciting in and of itself for my 6-year-old.

MK for sure with a 6yo! There are many rides there that your older kids probably would want to skip so take advantage of the time alone with your little one.

If she is into princesses, I would do a princess day! A princess character meal or tea at the GF or even BBB if you are a fan of it.DS and I did MK alone when he was about 5. We did EMH and hit fanisty land at 8:00 and got to do so much before it got busy. A favorite memory.

Just to throw out a different option for you - If she likes animals, it might be fun to do the wilderness explorers at Animal Kingdom. I feel like teens might not be that into it but younger kids find it really fun... its essentially earning "badges / stamps" for doing things in the park that involves learning about animals and the wilderness. While at AK, you can take her to see the Finding Nemo show - which involves puppets and is pretty spectacular.

I think a princess day at MK would be a wonderful choice.....that is if she is into the princess thing as most 6 year old girls are. Took my little girl one on one for her 7th bday and she did the princess make over and had lunch at Cinderella's castle. It was the perfect fairy tale day. But I think at the end of the day it depends on your daughter and what she will enjoy most. Maybe she has a favorite ride or show or something she really wants to do you could base the day around that park.

I'm planning a day alone with my two littlest girls at Magic Kingdom. We are hitting all the princess stops and slower rides at Magic Kingdom. We also booked a lunch at Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh. I'm looking forward to spending time with my little ones, enjoying a slower pace.

My 7 year old super enjoyed the Agent P adventures. Also, we love getting a Duffy bear to color and then visiting all the countries for a stamp. So, since you're stay at BC, I'd say Epcot and then back to swim.

(But then again, it depends what your olders would like/not want to miss, too).

Would she be interested in doing the pirate adventure at BC/YC? My DS has done it a few times and loves it. How about breakfast at Cape May or Akershus and a day in EP? Or breakfast at 1900 and a day at MK? Wilderness Explorers at AK is fun, too. I just spent the day in MK with DS7 while DH got his haircut at the Dolphin. We totally winged it and had a blast.

Has she been to Disney before, enough to have any opinions of what to do? One of the coolest things I've done is let my son plan an entire day. We did exactly what he wanted and it was so neat to see what he wants to do because it was completely different from what I would have planned for him. We played in the room for a while, spent hours at the Lego store, and went swimming in 60 degree weather at night. If I had planned his perfect day we would have ridden barnstormer ten times in a row, and for his perfect day we didn't even set foot in a park.
