My husband and I are making trip to Disneyland Sept. for our 15th Anniversary! This will be our first trip without the kids. I am trying to figure out the best schedule for us that will be fun and not rushed. So what order should we see the popular rides in?

CL
TSM
GRR
Soarin'
TOT
(skipping Screamin'. I'm to much of wimp to do it without the kids talking me into it)

Anything else we must do while we are there without the kids? Sounds like we will try to go to the Cove Bar for lunch. Should we do a WOC dinner? When we went with the kids this last Dec. we just grabbed FP and got a great spot.

Any advice/suggestions welcome. Thanks!

If you want to do all of the rides in Carsland, this is what I'd do...

Will you be staying onsite? If you are, you'll get Extra Magic Hour, so I'd be there for that. If not, get to the park as early as possible (at least 30 min prior to opening).

At opening I'd get a FP for Soarin or ToT and then run to Luigi's and ride that first because it's been getting 60+ min lines that persist all day with no FP. Then I'd go down to Toy Story, which you should be able to do at least twice with minimal waits because all the crowds have been going to Cars Land.

After however many times on Toy Story you should be able to get another FP (GRR or the one that you didn't get at opening).

I honestly wouldn't bother with Radiator Springs Racers FP...instead I would ride sometime during the day using the Single Rider line (if you're ok with that). With the stand-by line this summer being an average of 2 hours, the SR line has been a good option to get on in less than an hour (probably less on a weekday in September, although we don't know yet). Also the 1 time I used the SR line with my mom we were still placed in the same car just in different rows...this happens pretty frequently, so you may end up getting lucky like this too.

If you're looking to try a new, nice meal you could do the WoC dinner at the new Carthay Circle Theater. I've heard good reviews of the place so far.

Thank you DLR29 for taking the time to give me this great information! We will be staying onsite, so we will take advantage of that extra time for sure.

If you're staying onsite you should be able to do Luigi's and Toy Story (at least twice) during EMH before lining up to get a RSR FP. In this case it might not be so bad to try for a RSR FP. But if you don't join the line to get an RSR FP before 8AM, stick with the plan of doing RSR with the Single Rider line.

In September you'll be allowed to take advantage of Extra Magic Hour everyday during your trip for either park.
