What Not To Wear At Walt Disney World - Getting ready for the next one -Show on again

my coworker just walked over to my desk and said "what's with all the Mickey balloons?"
I looked up - floating past my window (on the 24th floor) were two blue Mickey heads! Yesss I am excited to go check out this event! She and I are going to slip out soon to see what's going on.

Um, what event? What am I missing not being in town today? I took taoday off from work....

So cool about the Mickey head balloons floating by your window!

Great update - love the people watching game!

OK So Jakkie and I just snuck out of work to check out what was going on. I am KICKING myself for not bringing a camera today. There were tons of Mickey balloons everywhere and some neat looking Mickey cars with giant balloons on top. You can see pictures here on the website, which also has info on the tour:

It wasn't anything huge - took us about 3 minutes to walk through - but a nice bit of pixie dust in the middle of a work week!

Thanks! It was so neat to be walking through the city today and seeing those balloons everywhere. I keep seeing them drift by the window next to my desk!

Don't worry you didn't miss much - just a lot of balloons!

Aww man I am SO jealous!! I live in Kansas City and the Disney events never come anywhere near here. I'd have to drive at least a day & a half to see anything other than Disney on Ice. Ya hear that Disney?? We Midwesterners like you too! That would be so neat to see the sky filled with Mickey balloons.

I would love to go see Disney on Ice - I have not been in about 20 years! I need to find out when it's coming to Philly next.

Another great update. The Share a Dream COme True Parade is my favorite!

WE saw the step sisters and stepmother at 1900 Park Farie in August and they were fabulous!:thumbsup2

Oh cool, I wonder if they are usually at 1900 Park Fare - I would go eat there just to see them!

I can't wait to hear what is going on. Make sure you get one of those balloons for yourself. :goodvibes

I have to admit I did not grab a balloon. I just know I would have heard comments from my co-workers all day about it :p I don't mind though because i can see pleanty of them from my window!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Love it! :lovestruc

Great update!

Thank you!! :teeth:

Maybe they'll have a bunch of those Mickey balloons that are on the commercials. If you can't take one back to the office, just point it toward Tennessee! Don't you have room to hide on in one of your Disney bags?!?!

I hope the celebration is good, and I look forward to seeing your pictures and hearing about what all happens.

Yes, exactly right, balloons everywhere! They were floating soooo high - a couple times I thought they were about to smack into airplanes and helicopters! So I'm sure a few must be halfway to TN by now. And they're biodegradable too!

Very cool that you got to see the step-family. I have never heard of them hanging out in Belle's Garden before.

They were fantastic, some of the best character interaction I have ever seen (next to Alice of course!)

:rotfl2: that's awesome. only a REAL man would carry a pink sleeping beauty backpack.

okay......there is SOMETHING going on with belle and getting a good shot of her! the ONLY time i've ever been able to get a good shot of her face is when i actually take a picture WITH her or during B&B live on stage at DHS. every other time she ALWAYS turns her head when i try to take a picture. maybe all the belles got together one day and decided they would always turn their heads away when they saw a camera. too bad - she's my favorite princess!

they really have become some of my favorite characters. they are SO entertaining to watch and always do a good job with being REALLY into character.

I was bummed about Belle because she is Jakkie's favorite and we never really ran into her. I loved Belle when I was little too, my dog was named after her!
Seeing the stepsisters made up for it though! ;)

Great update. I thought of you today because the Simpsons episode this evening was a highlight and they showed the Monorail song. :cool1:

I came running out of the kitchen as soon as I heard it. :lmao:

Haha I so need to hear that song again. I'll have to search for it online!

The stepsisters are great.

They are - they were so funny. They were shoving each other around and eventually Lady Tremaine made them each go stand in a corner :rotfl:

GREAT TR. Although it makes me sad to read it b/c I miss my dear beloved WL so much! SO SO jealous.

Can't wait to read more.

It was so neat to be at the WL for the first time after reading so much about it. Pictures really do not do it justice (especially my blurry pictures!)

Shoot, I could have used a bit of pixie dust today!

I would love to go see Disney on Ice - I have not been in about 20 years! I need to find out when it's coming to Philly next.

October 16th to the 19th at the Wachovia Center, we have tickets for the 19th @ 2:30:rolleyes1

Oh cool, I wonder if they are usually at 1900 Park Fare - I would go eat there just to see them!

::yes:: THey are there for dinner with Cinderella and Prince Charming.

I need to see the step sisters at Belle's garden, they didn't do that when we were there last! We've got a dinner ADR at 1900 PF, so we'll see them there as well! :woohoo:
Will need to scope out the Pet Cemetary and look for Mr Toads headstone when we go!

Yes, the stepsisters & Lady T. are now regularly appearing at 1900 Park Faire! We saw them at dinner last month, they were amazing. They put on a "grand ball" and introduce Prince Charming & Cinderella, then the stepmom & sis'es crash the party. It was all very fun and of course my chickens... I mean children... would have nothing to do with anyone except Cinderella. We also ran into the lovely ladies last year next to the castle, not in Belle's story pit but over next to Sir Mickey's. They had just gotten there and they were beyond hilarious! You're right on with how they act... they were snubbing little girls in Cindy dresses and hitting on all the dads. Too funny!! I think there was a lot more interaction then, than at the restaurant, but of course they don't have a regular meet-n-greet time yet, they just kind of wander around Fantasyland and show up wherever they feel like it.

Psst -- Dr. F -- Mr Toad's memorial is waaaaaaay up in the back corner of the pet cemetary on the left side. Very hard to see if you don't know where to look!

I so need to see Lady Tremaine & Co. next time we go. They seem like a riot. :goodvibes

I love your spot the dad with the Princess backpack game. :lmao:

That is so cool that you got to see Mickey balloons from your desk. I bet it made you smile. :goodvibes

No pictures? That's sad.

I guess I'll go hang out on the roof for a while and see if I can catch some as they fly by!

You are a celebrity in my household too. I was reading you TR and DH walked by and said, "Isn't that the girl from What Not To Wear?" I am loving you TR.

 Funny! I'm glad you like my TR so far, I'm hoping to update it today (although I am about to get interrupted to go pumpkin picking!)

It's usually amazing that I manage to make it out the door, onto the train and to my desk by 9 each morning, so I guess it is no surprise that I forgot my camera! I am not a morning person....the other day I was sitting at my desk and one of our editors came over and tapped me on the shoulder to let me know that my shirt was on inside out

Oh my gosh 1900 Park Faire is definitely on my list of restaurants for next time, I would love the chance to see the stepsisters again. I am not a big Cindy fan (gasp!! don't hate me) but the stepsisters are awesome!

I love your spot the dad with the Princess backpack game. :lmao:

Yeah we found a few more dads throughout the trip, i'll be sure to post more pics  it was a fun way to pass the time while we were standing in line!

Thanks

Awesome for supplying the song lyrics!
I can't wait to read about your trip to 1900 PF on your TR. Mr. Toad's headstone was a little creepy, I am more fond of the picture of him that is hanging in the Winnie the Pooh ride!

October 16th to the 19th at the Wachovia Center, we have tickets for the 19th @ 2:30:rolleyes1

I'll be away next weekend (Jack & I are celebrating our 2-year anniversary with a trip to the Poconos!) but I looked it up and it appears Disney on Ice will be back in Philly in December. I am alredy working on Jack to get him to go....:teeth: Although I guess the Wachovia Center may be called something else by then!

Congrats on the anniversary.

Yeah, I got my mailing telling me about the December Show. Waiting to see how DS likes it next week before we invest anymore money.

There was still a part of MK that we had not visited yet….Mickey’s Toontown. I had kinda skipped over Toontown on the last few Disney trips, but we had time, so we decided to check out Mickey & Minnie’s homes.
IMG_4904.jpg

I wish I could be as talented as Minnie – she has her own magazine, makes pottery, cooks, paints, sculpts. Her ‘To Do’ list that includes “Call Mickey” 7 times is a little disturbing though. And she uses a bit too much pink in her decorating for my tastes.
I got a kick out of this statue, Jakkie said Donald must look mad because he only got third place
IMG_4909.jpg

IMG_4912.jpg

IMG_4913.jpg

After touring Minnie’s house, which is always a little crowded for me, we checked out the Toontown Fair tent. I was terribly amused by the fact that you could now eat Johnny Depp’s face in cookie form.
IMG_4915.jpg

LL, here’s a picture for you! I should’ve bought them…
IMG_4917.jpg

Next we checked out Mickey’s abode. I like this better because it’s more open than Minnie’s, you don’t get stuck in some slooow moving line winding through the house.
IMG_4918.jpg

IMG_4924.jpg

I love all the little details, especially in the yard and garage.
IMG_4927.jpg

IMG_4926.jpg

IMG_4929.jpg

We continued on to Tomorrowland, because I was about the experience the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor for the very first time ever. Hurrah!
IMG_4930.jpg

This attraction was really funny. I loved how they picked out a dad in the audience and kept picking on him throughout the whole show. Everyone they chose to interact with was a really good sport. I wish one of us had been picked!
We were starting to get hungry for dinner, and there was a bit of a wait for Buzz, so I suggested we ride TTA (my faaaavorite) so Jakkie could peek in Buzz and see if she wanted to go on it or not. I love TTA, when I worked at WDW sometimes I would go to MK and just ride it over and over again for an hour because there was rarely a line.
IMG_4931.jpg

Jakkie decided that it looked like Buzz Lightyear paled in comparison to Toy Story Midway Mania, so we cut across the hub to Liberty Square for dinner, getting some castle shots first.
IMG_4935.jpg

IMG_4936.jpg

We were headed for one of my favorite CS places in the entire WDW Resort….Columbia Harbor House. We both got macaroni and cheese, with malt vinegar for our fries. Yum. So good I forgot to take a picture of it until the end.
IMG_4939.jpg

Although I have to admit that the disney mac n' cheese wasn't quite as delicious as I remembered. That did not stop me from getting it a few more times on the trip, however. I also got a bottle of water, which I filled with my crystal light pomegranate mix, which looked disturbingly like blood.
IMG_4943.jpg

With that, we were done with the Magic Kingdom. We hadn't done everything, but I knew I would be back with Jack in a couple days! We decided to try the boat back to WL.
IMG_4945.jpg

It looked like one had just left, so we sat on a bench to wait a bit. We started cracking up when one little girl ran past us with her dad and yelled at him, “Hurry up, dad! I need to rest my butt!” The dad was appalled, but we thought it was funny.
Eventually the boat came and we sat behind a really nice guy from Atlanta who talked to us a bit. He was insisting they were on their way to a princess dinner at the Wilderness Lodge – is there such a thing??
IMG_4946.jpg

At that point too I got a message from Crystal (wdwpolyprincess) about Adventurers Club – I think she said she was going that night. We had decided to go somewhere else, but I was hoping I would get to meet up with her at some point!

What were our other plans? We ended up going somewhere I had never been before, and had the time of our lives! Stay tuned….

Oh, I love all the pics of you in Toontown exploring the houses! I think I've never really given that place it's due, so it's nice to see your photos.

Again, you look like you're having a blast.:thumbsup2

Great update. I can't wait to find out where you went that you have never gone to before. I am so excited. :happytv:

I love the TTA as well. My husband makes fun of me because it is my favorite ride. He says that it hardly counts as a ride but I beg to differ. :thumbsup2

It sounds like you had a great time and I can't wait to read more. :goodvibes

ITA with you about Minnie's house. It always seems crowded, even when it's not:scared:

I love your Mickey Boppers! You should have bought them, they are a very fun & cute accessory.

I have never really explored Toon Town, I must put that on the list for next time. Which is rapidly growing. :rotfl2:

I loved the WL Boat. It was so nice & relaxing. :cloud9:

Another fun update...and no, there isn't a princess meal at WL. I wonder what became of those lost people :confused3 :rotfl:
