What non-essential items do you bring along? Fun or practical

I don't want to overpack, but that's pretty much a given with me. LOL I never want to forget anything we need and I also enjoy packing little extras that might be useful or fun on a trip.

I just bought each of our kids their own wind-up flashlights (no batteries!) and a few night lights to put in the rooms for the little ones. I might get some glow sticks to bring along to the parks at night.

Any other ideas? Practical, fun, creative... :thumbsup2

I guess it depends on when you are going but we like to bring the battery operated fans for our little one. we are going at the end of May so it will be hot! Definately get glow sticks, flashlights, autograph books, their own disposable cameras and quarters and pennies for the pressed pennies.:dance3:

I buy those twirly flashilight things ahead of time. I got Nemo and Pooh for $4 each. They are $12 each in the park! I also buy little action figure sets. They take not room and keep them busy at rest. or on the plane. I did buy dd3 her cinderella costume from disney store for $18. Last year we paid $70 for Ariel wedding. Not doing that again.

Yes a clip on fan is a must!

We all have our own fanny packs with an insulated pouch for our water bottles so they stay nice and cold and I'm not constantly getting one for someone. Plus they pack their own munchies in them and can eat as the urge hits.

For those late nights, after the kids are asleep, the wife and I bring...

Wait.

Wrong thread.

:lmao:

Watch disneyoutlet.com and sales at disneyshopping.com, and pop into your local Disney store for sales. I bought a set with nightgown, robe, slippers, and wand for each DD (left the wand and slippers at home because I did overpack!) at disneyoutlet.com and two little toy cell phones at a Disney Outlet store (perfect surprise for the airplane ride). They were a few little things, but they seemed to have an impact!

We also brought princess costumes from Halloween from home to wear to our CRT breakfast - no need to buy those at the parks when you can get them on sale around Halloween!

Those sound good, where did you get them?

And to answer the op's question, we bring a small game like Uno for down time in the room and sometimes dive sticks for the pool.

I usually hit the dollar stores before we go and try to get a little of everything. For this trip, Mickey and Minnie coloring books, princess crayons, mermaid dolls, light necklaces, inflatable beach balls for the pool, and some pool toys. I bought tons, and it was only 20 dollars.

I always bring cling on shades to stick on the rental car windows (fold flat for airline travel).

For the parks, I bring a UV rated sunshade that attaches to our stroller (2 companies make them: the Kiddopotamus Ray Shade or the Protect-a-Bub). I can pull mine all the way down over the front of the stroller when my child is napping.

For the room, I bring night lights and outlet plug covers.

I also bring a plastic envelope (at Target) to keep any special papers we get dry and unwrinkled (certificates, park maps we want to keep as souvenirs, etc.)
