Of course there is "other stuff going on" but unless you are in & out of Disney all year those of us that make this trip a "once in a life time trip" want to see the darkness drawing in and the children holding their lighted wands in the air waiting for that night time parade to begin its a massive part of what Disney is!!!Of course this is only my opinion & obviously not yours ,but i think you will find its shared by thousands
It's interesting that Disneyland has two parks and will have a minimum of three parades and possibly four. WDW has four parks and one parade. It just doesn't add up.
I miss the nighttime parade too. Kudos to those of you who don't miss it but that's no reason to be snarky to those who do.
Well, I agree somewhat. Basically because I never give my time into a parade. Too much else to do.I'm sorry you are disappointed. I don't miss it at all. I don't think Disney is "slipping ".

No, I'd settle for one nighttime parade. I agree that they will likely have something for the 50th.Does there need to be some mathematical formula? 4 parks and 2 waterparks must equal at least 2 nighttime parades?
I'm betting they are planning something for their 50. I loved watching the parades, don't get me wrong, but there is plenty still to see and do.
I can't see how the removal of a major nighttime attraction with no replacement on the horizon can be counted as anything but a negative.
Seems quite reasonable. The entertainment (including parades) is what sets Disney apart for me.No, I'd settle for one nighttime parade. I agree that they will likely have something for the 50th.
It was a logistical nightmare. Between people camping out for it and camping out for fireworks, it cut the park in half and made it dangerous and impossible to get aroundor leave because it forced everyone on sidewalks.
The floats themselves were old and looked it, and the whole idea was better suited for 25 years ago. MK visitors are better off without it.

If you were on the Fantasyland side the of the hub, you were staying there until the parade was done, and if you wanted to slip out in the window between parade and fireworks, good luck. Between the setup, the parade and the closedown, that was an hour where Main St was untraverseable, making the whole park feel more crowded and congested.

We miss MSEP and it's one of the reasons we are considering just visiting DLR next year and skipping WDW entirely in 2018.
I don't belive it is going to MK, is it?As far as Paint the Nighr Parade, why does anything good have to go the Magic Kingdom? MSEP was perfect when it was at Disneyland. Then it had to go away for 20 years. Now it is back at DL for the summer and Paint the Night will be at DCA and Pixar Parade which is so much fun, will be at DL.
Why not have MK invent something instead of take something. The 50th for MK is coming and you should have a parade there that will be just wonderful without making someone else do without.
Glowing away 8/20. Most are starting to believe they mean it this time.MSEP is only supposed to run through August (I'm not sure of the date).

Oh, I tend to agree with you. It's just that there is going to be a ton of construction going on...all over the place. We won't be able to avoid it. All while paying high prices to get in! It just seems that we finally get used to DHS being pulled apart, that they come along and tell us, with less than a month's notice, that one of the classic attractions will be closing forever! We can no longer make a circuit in DHS....it's dead ended due to the construction going on, and that creates bottlenecks. Then they start with MK...we no sooner get the scrims down there, then they start again. With the way people screamed about the darn crane being in their Castle photos, I can only imagine the uproar coming!I think Disney can't win here. You are complaining about their adding things but then complain when things never change. Not you specifically but others do. They can't never change and never add things. Something has to give. They can't remain stagnant. Change and growth hurt for a bit, always have, always will. And typically are always worth it in the end. Will it be a bit of turmoil in all the parks for a period of 3 or so years? Yes it will. Will we need to keep our eyes on the target to live through the growing pains? Yes we will. It will suck at times. A lot probably. But I'm sure not going to prefer no changes over the new things to come. I can't imagine many will.
I disagree. It worked for decades. Yes, it was congested. But in all reality? It's no different now. The afternoon parade causes congestion and makes it very hard to move around the area...so, they should get rid of that? And the congestion with the fireworks is outrageous! Very few people left during the parade....they tended to leave after the parade if they weren't staying for the fireworks. Now? People are cramming onto Main St earlier than ever for those darned fireworks. The crowds are worse than ever. I've seen the new fireworks, I doubt I'll need to see them on every single trip now. It's just too big a pain! I just can't agree with the whole 'the parade made the congestion worse'. But, who knows...with the projections being added to the fireworks, it's probably a lot cheaper to do the fireworks and do away with the parade. And, as we all know, it's all about the bottom line with Disney. It was a logistical nightmare. Between people camping out for it and camping out for fireworks, it cut the park in half and made it dangerous and impossible to get aroundor leave because it forced everyone on sidewalks, and it kept the lights on the sidewalks low so you couldn't see where you were going.
