What?? No More EasySaver @ Walgreens!!!

Just went to Walgreens for my new EasySaver Catalog only to find out they have discontinued the rebate program. I just called Walgreens customer service and they read me a letter about why they are discontinuing. Something about reasearching new and better reward opportunities. I love this program because I can get my refunds on 1 gift card as opposed to saving a bunch of register tape rewards. I am not happy!!!

I think I believe reading that Walgreens is going to something similar to CVS's extrabucks. I'm disappointed in this too. I especially loved the 10% bonus.

Ha Ha, it figures. I just started doing this and received my card last week. Hopefully they figure out what they want to replace it with before too long.

I'm sure they laid people off who used to process their rebates as well....with the economy this crummy they could have waited...

What also bothers me about this is that they are moving to Register Rewards, which my Walgreens is NOT good about giving to you. 75% of the time they don't print or take forever to print.

I didn't notice this till yesterday when I stopped in to pick up my new catalog. I was so disappointed.

I hate the register reward thing which is why I stopped doing it at CVS.

I guess I'm going to have to get used to it but yuck.

I'm upset about this too. I don't like the register rewards either. The gift card was the best!

I am so disappointed to see this program end. Between using coupons and getting the 10% bonus, I was always able to have enough excess to buy other gift cards for vacation (like gas cards), not to mention all the great free stuff. I don't have CVS near me anymore. It's going to kill me if I have to start actually paying for toiletries

I used to stop almost everyday after work. Now I am struggling to get rid of the RR I have from the past 2 weeks then I doubt I will go there again. I had been boycoting them for years up until last year but now I have no reason to go there again.

I too was disappointed to see the program end. I especially liked the 10% bonus with the gift card. For me personally, I have dramatically slowed down my spending at Walgreen's since it ended. The Easy Saver was one of the main reasons I shopped there. I do some of the Register Reward offers, but it can be frustrating because often times they won't print and the cashier has to get a mgr and it takes forever, or they won't give it because I used a coupon, etc, etc. I have found CVS and their Extra Care Bucks to be much more consistent in this regard. As a result, CVS is getting more of my business now.
