WE are a family of four with an almost 3 year old and 6 year old. The 6 year old naps only once in a blue moon-maybe a handful of times in a year. The almost 3 year old naps often, but not every day, so she is not a solid regular napper either.

We get in late night on a Wednesday (about 11 or 12) and will be driving a 6 hour drive after school.

I can't decide between these two options:

1. Go the first day we are there on Thursday. Reasoning is that kids will be so exhausted from the car ride and morning theme park touring that I have a good chance they actually nap. But this could backfire big time if they don't nap.

2. Go Friday night, the second full day we are there. Reasoning would be they won't be as exhausted having had a regular night's sleep. If they don't nap it won't be as catastrophic, but it would be so much better if they would. The downside is that it will be harder for them to get then to nap this day.

What would you do? I so wish I could just play it by ear, but I am afraid tickets will sell out. Thanks in advance!

We do the party every year. We never go to a park the morning of the party. We rest or hit dtd. Then we go to mk at 4 (early party entry time) grab a cs for dinner and we last until party end at midnight.

I would go the 1st night, if it is available.

1) If it is cancelled due to weather, no sweat get tixs for the next night.
2) I have heard they allow you to switch the dates of the tixs for emergencies, assuming then have more tickets left. (IE you don't go on 10/31)
3) Sleep in the 1st night, and avoid a park until MNSSHP. Go to a late breakfast on site at the resort, followed by a swim and anything else around the resort you want, have lunch, and then a nap about (if they will not nap, let them lay and watch cartoons for at least 1.5 hours. then get them dressed at 3 and head to the MK and enter at 4, if you are not AP holders, and 3:30 if you are (avoid the lines). Then pick 1 area of the park FL, or AL, or TL, and do not do much walking. Get a few day time rides that don't change out of the way, and get a FP or 2, and have a QS dinner indoors with a rest at 5. Get a FP for Mickey/princess/ something that you can kind-a rest in line while waiting. THEN at 7 you will have everyone ready to party! ( and maybe a FP for later too ;) )

(also MAKE sure you have a double stroller. )

I would opt for Thursday night, as it's likely to be less busy than a Friday night when many locals go. However, I probably would not do a park that morning. After arriving at midnight, I'd sleep in the next morning, maybe hang out at the pool, go to Downtown Disney, then back to the room and hope for a short snooze before heading out for the party at 4:00.
