So, we're staying in the BWI for the first time. Like in GF, a must see is the lobby during piano serenade time, viewing the lobby from on high, the grand stair case and open elevator. Having never been to BWI, and anticipating a good bit of laptop time, what should I look for or do while there to make every moment special? Thanks.

Check out the rose garden near the quiet pool. It's a nice area to walk around. :)

The lobby is OK, not really anything amazing to see. I'd recommend spending most of your down time just walking on the boardwalk and checking everything out. :) There are restaurants, bars, clubs, little shops, and at night they have magicians, etc, walking around. Also take a walk over to the YC/BC and check out those resorts. Make sure you stop at Beaches n Creme for some AWESOME ice cream treats. :)

Oh, and it's a nice walk over to the S/D resorts also. Maybe even do a little Karoke at Kimonos! :)

The main plus to staying at the BWI is the boat transportation to Epcot and MGM. :)

Thanks...I also heard about the hidden rose garden in epcot showcase. I look forward incorporating the suggestions. The Boardwalk strolls are much anticipated, let alone some minigolf.

Jellyrolls dueling piano bar is a must for the over 21 crowd when staying at the Boardwalk! It's a blast!

I loved to sit on the big front porch overlooking the boarwalk promenade. Last time we were there, there was a wedding party getting pix taken in the courtyard. Very pretty.

You HAVE to check out Jellyrolls in the evening. Soooooo much fun.
My DH wandered in one night after dinner, planning to head right over to DTD, but ended up staying the whole evening!

The man that I rent points from says there are boardwalk entertainers (we never saw them) that are really cool too. I dont know the whole scoop on them (Buskers something?) but maybe someone else here can give you more info.

The surry bikes are a cute idea but alot of work to get up the hill to go towards BC.:faint: And we had 4 people pedaling!

Have a great time and enjoy BWI. Its our fav!

We really liked the Bellvue Room just off the main lobby to the right. They played old radio shows and Andrew the bartender was the best!! There is also a few outside tables here with a nice view. It is really fun for a cocktail or two!

We also love walking to Epcot and MGM. DS is in a wheelchair and sometimes not dealing with transportation is more fun. Epcot was a 10-15 min walk and MGM was a 15 min. walk. Many times DS and I would beat the rest of our crew b/c they would stop at resorts.:smooth:

Another favorite was the quiet pools. If you are looking to relax or read they were perfectly serene. I completely fell in love with this resort and stayed just after in a Tower Room at the Contemporary facing the castle and wished I never split the stay and left Boardwalk. That is how great it was there.

ugh. building anticipation with all these suggestions is getting the best of us right now. Everyone is so helpful and kind with great advice. The lounge sounds great as we're swing and oldies fans. I'm more like my grandfather than a 40y/o.

The Boardwalk is our favorite resort too.
We love everything about it! The location is fantastic, we enjoy the walk to MGM and back but we really love being able to walk over to Epcot in just a few minutes.
Sometimes we'll just walk over, get a drink from the Rose and Crown and sit and watch The British Invasion for one set. Then back to The Boardwalk!
The Belle Vue Room is great too.
We've spent a lot of time there over the years. I really don't remember Andrew working there, but TIM is a fantastic bartender and a really nice guy too.
There isn't any swing music being played in the lounge, just old radio shows, like Jack Benny etc...
They have board games there, we've passed the time playing Scrabble on a few rainy nights. It's very cozy!
The Flying Fish downstairs is one of our favorite restaurants.

You picked the best resort for your stay!
Have a fantastic vacation!
