What MUST I know when planning a Christmas trip to WDW?

See this would normally be my plan too..but from what I"ve read the park that week can close due to reaching capacity by 11 am or so...so if we take the chance of an afternoon break don't we have to worry about being able to get back in that night?

In my experience, when they close the park for admittance, it's not closed for the entire day. It's usually closed in the morning/mid-day, and then opens up again a few hours later after people have gotten fed up and leave. I've never had a problem with this, even when staying off-site.

Just subscribing hoping for a 13Dec-20Dec stay but depends on if fertility treatments work!! Really want a baby but want another trip to Disneyworld as well. :)

Good luck with those treatments. I hope you have to cancel your trip (for great reasons of course). I know how hard those treatments can be so if you need to vent just let me know. We tried for 2 1/2 years before we got our DS (second IUI worked) and have been trying again for nearly 4 years this time (3 IUIs failed and I'm done now).

Oh and we are going in Dec 2006 too. :cool1:

My husband and I are thinking about going down to Disney around Christmas-time but I will probably be constrained by vacation, and will probably only be able to go late november/early december, does anyone know when the christmas decorations go up, and when MVMCP and Osbourne lights begin?

Thanks!

Jennifer

Hello Jennifer,

Late November/early December is a great time to go!! Some of the lightest crowds of the year. This is the "lull" period right after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. The parks will all be decorated by Thanksgiving day at the latest and will remain up through New years. MVMCP will probably have the first party on Nov 26th (Sunday) or most likely Nov. 28th. You will get different opinions from different folks but I say definitely go to the party! My family always enjoys it. The Osbourne family of lights is also amazing and should be up by Thanksgiving day as well.

Have fun planning your trip!! :goodvibes

Adding myself to this great thread! We'll be there from 12/19-23.

It will be our first trip during busy times (we are used to January crowds) but we're excited to see WDW all decked out for the holidays!
Meeting my brother/future-SIL and mom/SD for a Grand Gathering. My mom has not been since she and my dad brought me in 1971! :thumbsup2
