Please don't get me wrong- I LOVE the Dis and have learned so much about how to "do" WDW that I can't imagine trying to go there without the Dis! However, it's also part of my problem- I know a little "too" much, so I've lost a bit of the magic that I had the very first time we went when I knew just enough not to be lost, but most of the magic unfolded before me during my vacation.
I'd like to have the same for my first trip to Universal-just enough info... So- I ask the experts: What are the only 3 things I MUST know before I go?
(FYI- we have 3 boys ages 4-11; we are staying onsite; we'll be there in April)
Thank you!!!!

If you are staying on site you will be blessed with the express pass. Dont forget to get a key for each person in your party. FYI, it is also still good on the day you check out.

quick thoughts:

1) If your kids want to ride Pteradon Flyers, the express pass doesn't work. Get there 1st thing in the am, and walk quickly there. Don't dawdle... the line grows exponentially each 5 minutes.

2) You can pool hop. We did so and enjoyed it.

3) You can walk to the parks from HRH and PBH. Many times it is faster than waiting for a boat.

Enjoy lots of pool time, at Universal/IOA, you don't need to rush as much as Disney :goodvibes

Suess Landing is a must for little ones, so is the Jurassic Park Play area

The breakfast with Spidey is awesome, the character interaction is amazing,
since Spidey can talk to your kids, he spends lots of time talking with them and telling them stories

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is NOT accepting any form of Express at this time either.

EDIT: I didn't see the April portion of your post. I'm not sure about April if it will be in full swing by then. (All trains running with moving platform)
