I'm starting to make plans for my son's 1st Disney World trip next spring & would love everyone's input on movies to see before the trip. He will be 3 at the time.

I want to make sure he's 'familiar' with a variety of the characters we will encounter...don't want a repeat of our Disney on Ice adventure this year because he was disappointed every time Mickey/Minnie would skate off stage. He just didn't know many of the other movie characters, story lines etc.

What are the must see movies you would recommend for my little one prior to our trip next year? :confused3

The Toy Story films are well represented in DHS. Cars and Monsters Inc are also present.

Any Muppet movies you can lay your hands on will tie in well with MuppetVision 3D.

For MK, try Winnie the Pooh movies, Donald Duck cartoons (Donald is in Philharmagic), Dumbo, Alladdin, Lion King, Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast.

For AK, try Dinosaur and A Bug's Life.

The beach video my daughter loved. We watched it over and over again till our trip. Then we had to watch it on the plane ride down.
There is also a halloween movie from the same line as the beach/camping line that is fun.

Thanks for all of the ideas! We'll start checking into them. I had not heard of the Sing Along videos. My son loves music so we'll be definintely picking up some of those too!

To get my kids ready for our Disney trip (in 4 days, yayyy!) and the characters, I ordered in all the classic Disney movies (that we used to watch on the regular Sunday night Walt Disney shows) from our local community library. The kids are familiar with a few of the recent movies and whatever shows are now on the Disney channel but not the older ones.

We were able to get almost all the videos that I requested and it didn't cost a penny (except when I was a week late returning one!)

We made a list before our trip and would watch one each week. It was a great way to get excited!

Has anyone mentioned Lilo & Stitch or Nemo yet? They are in the parks a lot too. Would Cinderella keep his interests? He might wonder who lives in that big castle!:cutie:

Definitely do not miss watching Finding Nemo. My DD LOVED the Living Seas with Nemo and Turtle Talk with Crush this year (3 yo).

My DD did a photpass pic w/ stitch and hadn't seen the movie yet. She actually just watched it last weekend for the first time. She also didn't see Cinderella until after her trip but understood she is a princess.

We watched Swiss Family Robinson and Song of the South before we went on our last trip. The kids got a lot more out of the the attractions based on those movies at MK.

We are doing this too! We have movie night every Saturday night. We watched Pinnochio last week. My 3 yo loved Jiminie Cricket!! Just hearing the song made me wish I was at WDW! "When you wish upon a star....."

Wow, how did you get a hold of Song of the South? I thought Disney never released it in the US?

I don't think I saw Peter Pan mentioned. And Snow White if you don't think that ride will be too scary. Monsters, Inc. has the Laugh Floor in MK and you can meet Mike & Sully at DHS.
