I was listening to the 8/18 Podcast and thought I heard Pete mention a movie called Waiting for Government. He said it was now relased on Netflix, but when I search Netflix I cannot find it. Did I hear him wrong?

The movie is Waiting for Guffman. It's a Christopher Guest mockumentary about a "sesquicentennial" celebration at a small town's local community theater. The musical written for the event has its eye on Broadway and all kinds of weird stuff happens.

It's HEE--LAARRR---EEE----UUUSSS....

If you enjoy it, also check out A Mighty Wind, For Your Consideration, and (my personal fave of the Guest films): Best in Show!

And let's not forget the one that, IMO, is the best "mockumentary" of all: This is Spinal Tap! :happytv:

I know, I agree with you. ("But this one goes to eleven!") But technically, Spinal Tap is a Rob Reiner movie.

We can't watch Illuminations because it makes us think of Stonehenge too much. :rotfl:

Our favorite is either A Mighty Wind or Best in Show, but Guffman is up there. The first time we watched that one over with my wife's parents and after the movie I left the room and came back with my jeans on backwards - I thought my MIL was going to die laughing.
