Hi,

I need to buy an annual family insurance policy, but so I can compare 'like for like' I need to know what the ideal amount of cover particularly for medical cover I should be looking at.

Does anyone know please?:(

Hi Karen - according to both the Foreign Office and the Consumers Association, the minimum cover should be for a minimum of £1 million for Europe and £2 million world-wide.

The following are recommend by the Consumers' Association :

• up to £2m worth of medical treatment
• up to £1m cover for personal liability
• £3,000 to £5,000 for cancellation or curtailment cover
• up to £1,500 for baggage and belongings cover
• up to £500 for lost or stolen money and travellers cheques

...... and this page has some helpful info regarding insurance.

Absolutely perfect Shirley::yes:: Ta very muchly:wave2:

Hi

I have used the same family annual worlwide policy for the last 5 years and have made 1 claim on it. I haven't been able to find a better policy as it also covers my DH's pre-existing condition - at no extra charge. I'm not sure if I can recommend the web site on these boards but if you would like the inof please pm me.
