looking at the calendar and knowing that beginning this week both ds and dd are out of school for the summer
for ds-no more getting him to the bus stop, backpacks or hearing complaints about homework. for dd-just knowing she's successfully finished up the college courses she was agonizing over this past quarter. it's like everyone in our family has breathed a huge sigh of relief.

animals of all kinds...especially watching my dog fly through the park with a huge stick in his mouth and prancing around like it is the most amazing day of his life (he does this pretty much every day) you cant help but get caught up in his happiness and enthusiasm for the little things
