What makes you happy at WDW?

When I wenton my 1st trip it was my honeymoon. I fell totally in love with it and am now a dvc member. Thanks to a nice DS Castmember discount. Well even though I was in total awe over WDW as a whole my best time was when my husband and I got ice cream on main street and found the little ally near by and sat at a small bistro style table and shared it. It was like something out of a movie. It was just the beginning of the memories to come over the years.

Last but not least....riding the TTA. For some reason I love hearing
"Paging Mr Morrow...Mr Tom Morrow your party from Saturn has arrived,
please give them a ring." LOL I know its probably a strange one.

This one of my favorites too! I say this all the time to my kids at home -- they just kinda roll their eyes at me. :teeth:

1) munching a hotdog on the patio outside Casey's while listening to Cinderella's Surprise Celebration in the background (whoops -guess I'll miss that one this time)

2) having a croissant and bowl of cantelope from Main Street Bakery for breakfast (What can I say" I like food on Main Street!)

3) first time down the big hill on Splash Mountain

4) riding Teacup with the kids while DW watches (a family tradition)

5) knowing my phone won't ring

6) riding backwards down the slope at the end of Speaceship Earth

7) Three letters... T O T

8) getting our family picture made with Snow White (and Mickey, too!)

9) walking to our room at the resort right after check-in

10) driving through the front gate (as i will be doing in about 53 hours from now)

Walking up mainstreet
Mickey ice cream bar for breakfast :mickeybar
A parade in the middle of the afternoon
Riding Buzz Lightyear with my Mom and laughing so hard while she tries to get a score! :rotfl:

  • Kiss goodnight @MK, especially after watching Spectro & Wishes :)
  • Getting an apple from Beverly Sunset @ MGM after Fantasmic & watching the crowds fade away-then having our pic taken in front of the sorcerer's hat by security or a CM :wizard:
  • Spaceship Earth-the sounds/smells--I love it...corny I know! :flower:

:cool1:
There's so many wonderful moments/experiences that happen when I get there, It's hard to put it all down, but will try...!lol
checking in after a long car ride (MA-Orlando) we have only flown once (hate flying-from an ex travel agent HE HE HE)~ we don't even unpack, just take showers and get to DD and walk all around seeing all the people, talking to the people, seeing everyone smiling, shopping and going to Ghardelli's for a sundea..
lots of fun times! :earsgirl:

I am a big kid, we go 3 times a year, and it's not enough for me! :goodvibes
Few more years cannot wait to move to FL! :Pinkbounc
Good thing my DS is going to college there in 2 years...I am thinking of going and getting a job serving popcorn or selling soda/pop!!!! :teeth:

Everyone enjoy your time at WDW and seeing the Mouse! :earsboy:
Pixie Dust to you all!
May all your dreams come true

Walking into the MK and heading for a Citrus Swirl! Then going on "It's a Small world" and singing and whisteling all the way through! Also-- Pirates of the Caribbean! and eating at O'hana!!!!

Lovely thread!

The smell of the flowers outside the main gates at magic kingdom. I just realized on our last trip that THEY are the smell of Disney to me. It's the same smell that was there when I was a child and I just love it.

Experiencing the same rides with my children that I so loved as a child.

Seeing the tears in the eyes of my daughters when they see the castle and realizing they are the same tears I cry everytime I see it.

The feeling of peace and happiness that I experience the entire time I am there. That feeling of harmony in a world where there isn't much, but in this small space, everyone is getting a touch of it to carry with them into the world.

The memories of what was and the excitement of what will be, the ever changing scenery that is Disney (be it land or world).

* Planning & packing to get ready - gets me in the Disney Mood
* Re-living my childhood
* Expression on DD's face when she arrives since I know what it was like as a child
* Monorail ride to MK
* Being able to act like a child without everyone thinking your crazy
* Nothing to worry about for 2 weeks
* Actually seeing DH relax for once

Our next trip:
* Staying at a Disney Resort
* Flying for the 1st time and arriving in Florida
* Taking the Disney bus for the first time

Just being there! Or thinking about being there when I'm at home, dreaming of going back...

I'm happy the moment I see purple signs. Just about everything at WDW makes me happy! :flower: :goodvibes

Myst

I love the feeling right as you are driving under the arch. You just feel a like you want to jump up and down. I also love to see the smile on my mom's face right after we get off Big Thunder. :sunny:

the lovely memories of our 1st trip w/DS
the anticipation & planning!
the joy on DS & DH's faces
the joy & loveliness & sheer excitement of so many little ones
the happiness & friendliness of others--we're all WDW high!
finding some new, little out of the way feature
walking thru the gates for the 1st time back
how very helpful & nice the CMs are
seeing the characters (especially Chip & Dale--I have no idea why :earseek: )
the bitterwseet feeling when leaving the gates of each park for the last
time for that trip ...

and listening & sharing on the Disboard!

OMG, that's one of my favs too! My whole crew loves TTA--just relaxing and watching the "world." Also, I happen to work with a guy whose name is (I kid you not) Tom Morrow.

Took

PS Also, love the atmosphere--the smells, the music, the pretty colors, the flowers....

::MickeyMo Disney's blue skies and sunshine (Do they ship that in from somewhere?)

::MickeyMo "When Hinges creak in Doorless chambers...." (HM)

::MickeyMo Those yummy sugared almonds and pecans in the little paper cones

::MickeyMo Hoop-de-Doo review Fried Chicken

::MickeyMo The stupid "happy tears" I get when the boat with the characters comes out at the end of Fantasmic...my DD and DS light up! (I'm such a BABY!)

::MickeyMo More tears any time the music swells in a fireworks show or parade

The way I forget COMPLETELY about work.

And how a week at WDW makes me feel like I've been away for a month!

And spotting Mickey for the 1st time of the trip...

The sudden gush of humidity as soon as we step off the plane at MCO

The arch and purple signs - it's like a whole different world

Ice Station Cool - free soda, mmmmmmmm

The laughter after the drop of Splash Mountain and how everyone on the ride, even complete strangers, talks about how soaked they got!

Getting to spend a whole week with my husband where the only thing we have to worry about is where we are going to eat dinner and what time our next fast pass is for

The opening song of Wishes...aw, brings a tear to the eye

All the silly jokes my husband comes up with as we are walking around...he's a dork, especially at Disney! :)

Meeting other people and hearing about the fun they are having at Disney...especially little kids!

Smores from Prime Time Cafe

The Cast Members...they are great people!

The first time we walk into Epcot, I get goosebumps

Sitting on the lagoon after Illuminations and watching the lights on the water as everyone else herds out of the park, then being among the last to stroll through the World Showcase

The smell of the sunscreen we use...this is a silly one, but we only use a particular kind of sunscreen at Disney (and only use that one at Disney), so whenever we lather up in the morning, I truly know I'm there (and when I open the bottle for a whif at home, I can be transported back to my favorite place!)
