What makes the moderate resorts better than the value?

We have our choice between moderate and value. But only wante to do moderate if it helped us with the kids in anyway.

We will have a 4 year old and a 6 month old in December, we wont be swimming. So what do the moderates have to offer that makes the worth it?

They also have a ceiling fan - that was a huge PLUS with my DH LOL There are two sinks.

With your situation, a value may be just fine :)

We stayed at ASMo in 2004 and CBR in 2005, and we like them both, BUT the food court at Movies had more to choose from. We decided we will stay at a value again, at least until our kids are old enough to want to use the slide at the pool.

I've stayed CBR and the Movies & POP. There were a few small things that were nice at CBR (bench with storage underneath, refigerator & ceiling fan, slightly larger room and walking path around lake). I don't remember two sinks but there might have been. What I didn't like was how larger the property was. It was far to the food area, too many bus stops. At the values, even though the properties are large they are set up so it's not a far walk to anything. The kids love the theming at the values and we end up at the values again and again. For us they are perfect and they save us some money. The money part works well for us since we stay for so many nights.

I am contemplating POP or POFQ. We have stayed at both and loved both. POP was good for the money but for about $400 more I could stay at POFQ which I really loved. The big advantage I see for staying at POFQ is it is smaller than POP although POP is not that big. I could possibly get a room closer to the food court and the bus stops at POP but it seems even the farthest (is that a word) room at POFQ is just about as close as the closest rooms at POP. Maybe I'll just spring for the preferred rooms at POP if I could ever figure out what those rooms are.

POFQ is not as spread out as the other mods or the values.

POR, CBR, and CSR are very spread out.

The Values are laid out closer together.

The mods have pool slides, a hot tub and a sit down restuarant (POFQ doses not have a sit down restuarant but shares with POR.

There is not much room size difference btween a mod and a value.

Here is the layout of a mod.
The bathroom is about the same size as the All Stars but you will have 2 sinks instead of one.

The mod has 54 square feet more than the value.
That means if both the mod and the value room were 27 feet long than the mod would be 2 feet wider. Just enough room for a double sink instead of a single.

There is not a lot of room size difference.

The theming at the values are much more fun and the colors are so bright .
Little ones just love them.

Did you know if you count all of the Dalmatians (the icons plus the puppies on the buildings) you will come up with 101 Dalmatians?
Now how cool is that?

That is one of my favorite WDW trivia facts. I love the way Disney pays attention to details!

Don't forget you get a frig at moderate and hair dryer. I like moderates better!!! Better pools. Food courts and sit down dining. The walks around the grounds are beautiful in mod. Rooms way better. I don't think I will stay at value again. Just didn't like it. If you are going for more that 3 days do moderate well worth the extra$$

It's all in what you're looking for. For me and my family, we go to be at the parks and Downtown Disney. We'll go swimming a bit. I don't think we'd ever eat at the resort, so that's a non-issue.

Plus, we enjoy the Disney theming and overall feel of the Values.
