For those of you who love Mythos (and I know there are a lot of you)...

What makes it good/yummy/fun?

I am planning itineraries, and methinks this should be on the lunch list for the US day...

Any pointers? Recommendations?

Thanks!!! :Pinkbounc

After hearing all the wonderful reviews I was expecting to be absolutely blown away but it wasn't that amazing to me. I love the outside of the restaurant, the interior is pretty cool too but the food was just okay to me. We didn't order anything fabulous but it was underwhelming. We had counter service food that was better. I'm not saying I wouldn't eat there again because it could have just been an off day as far as the food goes but as a whole it's pretty much just a cool theme.

1. Atmosphere
2. Terrific food
3: Try the Banana Gooey cake!!

We've eaten there 3 times and have always had amazing meals. Infact we ate there 2 days in a row on the last trip. The rissito is very good, but I guess iwill have to skip it this yr infavor of one of the low carb meals.

Athmosphere - Request a seat in front of the window. You get to watch Hulk and Dr. Doom across the water.

Music - The band Mythos has 3 CDS. The music sounds like a movie score, like an adventure. When you leave, you feel like you've watched a movie.

There is music? We must have just gone on the wrong day or something.
That would explain it. Without the music, the experience is lost.
Like I said, Mythos has 3 CDs all worth buying. I listen to them all the time, especially on the drive up to Orlando. It's new age mostly instrumental music. Some of their songs are also play at Busch Gardens acrobat shows.
Mythos - Mythos
Mythos - The Reality of a Dreamer
Mythos - Eternity

...sounds kinda neat, but I don't know if this would be lost on my 8 & 5 yr. old girls or not...

I don't know if we're cerebral enough to be able to "catch these nuances" or not...LOL.:teeth:

Anyone have any concrete food recommendations?

The music thing sounds cool (I am hearing something "Chariots of Fire-ish" in my head) and the banana cake sounds good, but I must admit, the menu hasn't bowled me over...

I DO understand that some things just have to "be experienced" and that is why I am seeking opinions. :Pinkbounc

As an engineer I suggest that you not eat concrete! My kids love their pizza which is an appetizer there. I like the BBQ sandwich. The kids will like the decor as it appears as if you are in a cave.

The music was not playing when we were there either, unless I don't recall. What makes it cool are
1 The atmosphere/design- Its just something different and makes you feel like your in another world
2 Ooeey Gooey banana cake- awsome!!!
3 We almost had a touch with stardom as we ate there at the same time as SpideyHulk, but didn't even know it.

As far as the food, I thought it was good, not great, but my wife loved it. Just for the atmoshere and dessert though, its a must do for us our next trip.

You took the words right out of my mouth! I too thought the decor was pretty cool, though not as amazing as I expected, and the food just okay. We ordered chicken wings as an appetizer, and boy were we surprised. I almost sent them back because I thought they brought us the wrong thing, they looked like fried butterfly shrimp! About 6 of them arranged in a nice circle on the plate, with just the tiniest drizzle of bleu cheese. Definitely not our cup of tea. I had a spinach salad with chicken I think, and it was good for the first few bites but then the dressing became kind of overwhelming. I didn't want to finish it. My husband had a barbequed pork sandwhich which he said was good, but overall nothing to write home about. We will not plan to eat there again. Just our experience.

The atmosphere at Mythos is great.
My meals have always been excellent and I dine out often. What makes the food so good is the blending of different flavors. It's not just your run of the mill meals.
The warm gooey chocolate banana cake is worth the trip to Mythos in and of itself!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Sha Lyn,

NO, NO, NO,

You are on VACATION !!! Forget the low-carb!!!
My DH is on Atkins and when we go on vacation
he goes off ( at my insistance).
Sorry if I sound like a bossy older sister. I just want
everyone to have fun and forget about everyday life.
It's vacation!!!

The food at Mythos was better than what we had at Emerils. Either Mythos is very good or Emerils isn't.

Thanks Prince Eric!

For me:

It's the service, the food and the atmosphere!!!!! It's very gourment for a themepark!

oooooh, so the banana cake has CHOCOLATE in it, eh?!

well, that just MAY make the difference! :teeth:

Actually, it's a small chocolate cake served warm. It has two pieces of banana sliced lengthwise on top of it (hence it's resemblance to a helicopter. There are regular slices or bananas in the corners of the plate with caramel on them. There is a scoop of peanut butter ice cream on top of the bananas on the cake. When you cut into the cake, warm liquid chocolate comes out.
Oh no---I want some NOW!!

I would rather eat at Mythos than Emerils anyday. As far as the Banana cake, it beats the banana cream pie that Emerils is known for too.

Is Mythos open all year? My husband and I are going alone in October and I would really like to try it. Our "family" trip in July will not be an option because most of the relatives are CHEAP and would definitely not be interested in a sit-down dinner in a theme park.
