What made me happy/ smile today thread

as i was preparing to fix supper, we got a call from our in-laws (they live next door). MIL didn't want to cook, so she offered to buy us all pizza if DH would go get it. 5 minutes later, he was gone...lol.

My ds (17) said "i love you mommy" while in front of his friend. This was after I bought him dr. pepper and 4th of july sugar cookies, but I'll take it.

Enjoy reading about all your smiles....

Just returned from spending an enjoyable week in NC and attending our DGD's 8th grade graduation and celebration :). Looking at the photos, can't help but smile how sweet and beautiful she is and amazed how fast she is growing up. Seems only yesterday she was sitting on my lap and I was reading her a book. :flower3:

Last night DD1&SIL/grands called and asked if they could bring dinner over. We had fun evening of good eats and chit chat :goodvibes. This evening we're invited to our DD2&SIL/grands for dinner and to watch Jack & Jill movie :goodvibes. Love and enjoy that our adult kids make time for the ole' fokes and all the fun family memories in the making. :lovestruc

It's 100* here w/index of 105* ~ hope everyone stays safe and healthy.:grouphug:

I got to test drive a FIAT yesterday!!!!!! oh my goodness...it was so amazing. And I was treated out to lunch to Panera Bread YUM!

I got to play with my sweet nephew Eli. He's 4 months old. And I got to hang out with my mom & dad. And I talked to DS's friend who is in Afghanistan in the Army on FB. Good day.

We traveled up to Lake Guntersville today, where I spent much of my childhood at our place on the lake. Sitting on the pier watching my son fish brought joy to my heart. I really miss my daddy, but knowing that he is looking down on us and being at a place he loved so much made me smile.

I talked to my aunt today. She and her kids moved last year and I miss them terribly. It was great to catch up.

We purchased our annual passes today, and headed over to MK for a few hours. One of the rides we rode was the Jungle Cruise, as my DD and I are standing in line (she's 15 now and hasn't rode JC since she was like 12) her eye's got real big and she got this huge grin on her face, as she began to remember pieces of the ride.. It was great to see her light up, like that... Made my day!

That just made me happy :goodvibes

Watching the baby deer play in the field behind our house this morning - I couldn't stop smiling! Soooo cute! :goodvibes

On friday, I had a few friends over for a friends birthday. We were playing Pictionary cards, Oh MY Goodness...that game is soooooooo fun and funny!! We could not stop laughing. We were all smiling then :)

What made me smile today, and every day since Tuesday, is my beautiful baby girl. She was born healthy, very alert and big (10 lbs, 4 oz) on July 10 and I have never been more in love!

Congrats DaisyLynn!!!

DD went grocery shopping for me. She and her friends were bringing stuff in, and she walks in carrying a big watermelon and just stops, and says, totally deadpan "I carried a watermelon."

I love my kid can quote random 80s movies! It was so unexpected I snort-laughed which just brought on this chain of non-stop giggles.

For those to whom I'm showing my old age and don't get the quote: Video Reference (Jennifer Grey)

And if you've never seen the movie it probably won't be as funny to you! But oh, did I need that laugh. :happytv:

Smiling because our DGS received word he passed 2 of his AP exams :thumbsup2. He'll be a senior in fall, will attend HS half a day and has registered for college classes other half. So proud of him! :goodvibes

This week-end we also attended another DGS's 16th :bday:. He and his friends had fun boating, jet skiing, tubbing, shooting pool, etc. It did the ole' fokes hearts good to be included and see these teens having so much fun! :flower3:

Something that made me happy today was my mom saying that she might get us a cat. My sister, brother and I have always wanted a cat, but my mom can't stand them so she said she'll talk to my dad about getting us an outdoor cat. It just made me happy that we're making some progress. :goodvibes
