What Lens Should I use

I'm going to disney with my DSLR, I only want to bring one lens, which lens would be good for taking pictures of the kids at disney with my Canon 450D? If i don't have It ill buy it.

Well what lenses do you have? What kind of pictures? I know you say of the kids but there are more then a few ways that can be interpreted.

I'm facing the same question - going next month. I have several lenses to choose from, but I am travelling with my DS (4) and DD (2) and as much as I want to take some good shots... I want to be present for them more. That means travelling light and not worrying about switching out gear so much. Right now, I'm thinking of using my 20mm f/2.8. It should be decent for low light situations (though I don't plan to shoot a lot of dark rides) and the borderline-wide-angle will be good for scenery as well as shooting in close quarters (i.e. capturing their faces while sitting next to them on a ride.) I'm still not entirely decided. Maybe I should spring for that 24-70L now!

If I could purchase just one general purpose lens, it would be one of these two:

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM Lens

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens

If I want to bring one lens and shoot in "green" mode, then I use a P/S camera.

I only use a DSLR when I have the time and effort to use all my equipment.

If I only want to carry one lens it is either a 24-105 or the 18-55 kit lens.

I'd say 24-105 for full frame or the 17-55 f/2.8 on an EF-S body.

My walking around lens at Disney is the 24-105 L f/4.0 IS on a crop body. It is not as wide as I would like but the reach of the zoon is nice, decent speed, and the IS really helps for low light shots. I never leave home without it in my bag.
