What "last minute items" should we take to WDW ?

What are some of your best last minute items, or things someone might not think to take to WDW that are good ideas.

For example, I have read before that handi-wipes are smart to take to clean around your hotel room (remote, light swithes, etc). We prefer taking the glow in the dark necklaces ($1 for pack of 3 at Dollar Tree) so we can spot our children at night in the parks.

Other ideas ? Many of us leave soon for Spring Break...

Here are a few of ours: Bug juice, ammonia, for bug bites, zip lock bags, for ice in the cooler and what not, binoculars, our disney ponchos, collapsable cooler for the pool, Absorbine Junior for bug bites and sore legs and tired feet, mole skin for blisters, usual med stuff for all types of maladies, poops, gas, headache etc, cork screw swiss army knife for wine bottles. I find its the little things you take that make the trip more enjoyable then running around the property searching for the stuff you left at home. Make a list, add and delete and once you set your course, pack it away first and its done. Keep the list and add after other trips. This stuff is more critical to me than clothes and socks.

We drive down so I stick all sorts of stuff in even a roll of Charmin!

I always have a small scissors and a little sewing kit.

Aloe lotion.

Extra batteries or film,they cost an arm and a leg at WDW!

Bottle opener.

Purrel or GermX

Masking or Scotch tape.

We take the cheapie ponchos from Target just in case a storm comes up.

Disposable underwater camera. Great for the water parks or even just around the pool. You don't have to worry about your good camera getting splashed or lost. Around $25 at WDW, so buy before you go!

Also, a shoe organizer thing that hangs on the door. You can keep all bathroom stuff like toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brushes, elastics, medical supplies, etc organized in see-through pockets. No clutter at the bathroom sink, and you just roll it up and place in your suitcase when you go home. I liked this one so much, I still use it in my bathroom to keep the "millions" of hair ties, etc organized at home.

laundry soap, even if you don't plan on laundry, you may get something on your clothes, that you will need to wash out. Maybe just a travel size. Target sells them for .99

I learned this the hard way, when my 2 Y.O, threw up, on her outfit. Plain water wasn't going to cut it, for that mess. Had to pay big $$$, at the laundry room for detergent.

The water-proof camera is a def must-do. These are usually my favorite pics.

Extra Batteries for your camera so you don't have to buy them down there.

2 Extra rolls of film for your camera.... even if you think you have enough... buy two more. You don't want to have to buy it there!!

Mole skin!!- Pack little scissors to cut it.

I second the laundry soap my dd6 threw up in the middle of the night our second night there! It was also handy for washing out some clothes we needed to wear again.

I liked bringing the following:

Disposable sippy cups- dividing drinks for kids (the milk containers are huge!)

Diaper packs- diaper, disposable changing pad, sandwich bag w/ 2 wipes
all in a ziploc bag.

Snacks for the plane- gummy worms work well for ear popping

Favorite juice boxes for the kids

penny press kit- quarters in one film canister, clean pennies in another.
Sunglasses

Sunblock & aloe

spray deoderant travel size- use it on your feet every morning & avoid blisters!

Sweats for the kids in the evening - they can fall asleep in them

small umbrella

tie ons- I cut up bright scrap fabric & tied it to our strollers, luggage, rental car antenna...handy when they move your stroller. You can also use the bright orange newspaper wrappers

Two seperate credit cards- each person carry a different one! We really panicked when we left my wallet on a string on the Kali River Rapids ride! My dh and I had the same card! We were lucky & someone turned it in!

Don't take your favorite childs stuffed animal or blanket w/ you to the parks! Our son's favorite was stollen!

We really liked having the cheapy rain ponchos from the dollar store/Walmart. We had regular raincoats, but loved using the throw-aways for water rides where you just didn't want to get soaked, they worked out great, and took up very little backpack space. Also, the over the door shoe organizer was by far the best tip I got from these boards.

Shiny pennies and a roll of quarters if anyone is in to pressed pennies. Bring some pens for character autographs (colored if you want, etc.) Allergy medicine if anyone is allergic to anything. A night light. (I always forget that one.) Outlet covers if you have little ones.

My clothes, my camera, my tickets, and ME!!

After years of doing so, I finally learned about overpacking. Don't do it!! Pack a small kit of meds, but as far as the other stuff, if you need it, Disney has it. 90% of the time you won't even use the "extra" stuff you packed, IMHO.

But then again, this is speaking from a person who doesn't have children. And the more stuff I read that you have to pack for them, I don't know if I want to!! Heehee!

From what I've seen most people have covered it. But I'll put my must do's

Extra camera battery - Keep it w/ your camera mine died just as we entered MNSSHP and I was lucky enough to find a cast member who went through a ton of extra work to open a kiosk in fantasyland so I could pay $12 for it.

Disposable sippy cups - it's a must, just toss them at the end of the day

Purell/baby wipes - It's always good to use in the parks

Brita sports bottle - Water is $2.50 a bottle down there

All sorts of medicine you may need.

Extra pair of sun glasses for everyone in the family.

Two things we didn't bring last year that we really needed were a small container of dish detergent for sippy cups and baby spoons. Laundry detergent to clean "accidents".

I overpack but I do find that I use what I pack. (but I guess with 3kids there is no light packing for us!)

Last time I brought a permanent market..I used it at the CBR when my 3 kids got chicken nuggets that came with a shovel & bucket. We my kids "have" to know which one was which so I put there names on each...I also do this for their water bottles.

I always bring dawn or joy for cleaning the refill mugs. (also when they were little this was also used for pacifiers & sippy cups.

I always bring detergent...one trip all 3 got sick & threw up all over, every day at every park so I would have gone broke buying it down there.

I bring hangers..just a few light plastic hangers so I can wash a few things at night (maybe just the swim suits & such) & I hang them up to dry in the room. This way I avoid the dryer at the wash facility so some of our stuff.

I bring my own pillowcases for the kids...just don't like their faces by the pillows.

Of course bring meds & bandages.

Ok last one, I bring 2 black lawn garbage bags for our double stroller when it rains. When the kids get out of it in their poncho the poncho gets wet. If you put the garbage bags over the seat then the seat stays dry when the kids get back into the stroller.

I bring my own pillowcases for the kids...just don't like their faces by the pillows.

That's a good one. I'll have to add that to my list...

Some things I bring:

individually wrapped antibacterial wipes, crystal light single serving icetea/lemonade/raspberry ice drink packets, (we carry them in our pouches and add them to water at the parks instead of buying soda), snacks, small suntan lotion/bug repellent and the bandaids with the neosporin already on it.
