What kind of stroller to take?

Ok What kind of stroller do you like to have at WDW? We don't want to take our big one but the little umbrella stroller seems to little .....we have to lean down to push it and it will not be comfortable in the parks. Our daughter will be almost two when we go.
So what do you all use?

McClaren Triumph-It is the best stroller we have owned.

I ordered a Maclaren quest off of Ebay. I am still waiting for it but i have heard all the Maclarens are awesome!:thumbsup2

We have a Maclaren Quest and a Triumph and love them both. DH and I are both pretty short, but a taller friend of mine commented on how much he liked the height of our stroller. Another nice feature for Disney if you plan on taking the busses, is that when you collapse and fold them down there is a lock that latches automatically.

We're renting a single stroller from A Baby's Best Friend. We do own a Mac Quest but personally I don't like it. It is a popular stroller on these boards just make sure it works for you before you buy one. I like the fact that its lightweight, tall handlebars and manuveurs easily - very smooth ride. What I don't like is that its very tippy (this can be overcome by remembering to rearrange bags etc prior to taking child out - for me w/3 kids who are always in a rush sometimes this is harder then it sounds - DD2 always comes out first which tips over the stroller but I'd rathar our bags hit the ground not DD2), not enough storage (you can around this by buying a storage net or bag to attach to the handles - which leads to the tipping issue), no cup or snack tray for child or parent (you can get around this by buying cupholders). I also bought a rayshade to extend the sunshade as it didn't really have enough shade for DD2. So its quite an investment.

I think the Mac's are a nicely built stroller but for our family it doesn't work at this point anyway - w/3 kids and all the stuff that goes w/it we need a big stroller. Good luck w/the stroller issue. For me the stroller was the hardest decision to make after choosing a resort! Have fun!

I just ordered the Combi Cosmo from One Step Ahead. I wanted compact and lightweight, but reclining with a sunshade...halfway between a full stroller and an umbrella. This seemed to fit my criteria. Of the reviews on the site, all were very positive and half were bought specifically for Disney trips. I hope it is a good one!

:) We have used a massive Evenflo as well as a cheapie umbrella stroller in the past with our oldest. But now that we have another baby in the house, we use Our Peg Perego P3. We took it when Avery was 3 months old last September and it worked great. We also added a Rayshade as well. It has a nice shade and snack tray and storage and isn't too heavy. The fold is nice too.

:) We will be using a different Peg P3 in 4 weeks when we head back to WDW. I bought another one for this trip. LOL Now I need to get rid of the original P3 (we currently have 8 strollers in my house for just a 13 month old DD...oldest DD is almost 8 :scared1: ).

:) We have a Maclaren Quest as well (actually 2 of those) that was originally bought for last year's trip but I thought she was still too tiny to be comfy in it. It would make a great WDW stroller other than the tippiness and lack of storage. I just don't use it much ever. I have been using my Quinny Zapp as one of my main strollers. :wizard:

I had a Combi years ago and it was the worst stroller I have ever owned in my 17 years of childraising. The frame was cheap plastic and it didnt push worth a darn. We have a Mac Volo and a Mac Quest now. BEST strollers I have ever owned. They are lightweight, have tall handles, a frame that is super sturdy and hold up to 55 pounds (although I think much more). Granted the basket is a bit small and they tip if you hang too much on the handles (same holds true for any lightweight umbrella stroller)- these are minor details to me for how great they are in every other respect. I have read on the boards where people have put wrist or ankle weights on the front bars above the wheels to balance out what they hang on the back. Ill be trying that trick!! You cant go wrong with a Mac. They are great and worth every penny!!

We rarely use a stroller. I think our big one has been used about 7 times in 19 mos, mostly on walks around the block and the umbrella stroller twice. I don't want to spend a lot of money for a single trip.

Hopefully the Combi will get us through the week okay. Wish us luck!

And I don't get a commission from them or anything!! :lmao:

I LOVE our Phil & Ted's e3 stroller. Used it as a single, double with infant, double with 2 toddlers, and it's great. Bright red and easy to spot in the sea of strollers. DS will be 2.5 and DD1 on our next trip and we're taking it again.

Here's something I wrote in another thread...
It is VERY easy to push/turn/maneuver.

Everyone from me to my husband to my mom push it - all different heights and strength levels - and have a VERY easy time with it. I have neck/back problems and really need something that glides/turns well without needing to be pushed too hard, and mine really fits the bill perfectly. Better than the side-by-sides I ever tried out while shopping around.

We brought our jeep umbrella last trip and will be bringing the same one this time around. Or we might buy a double jeep umbrella and take that! I think its much easier.

I'm trying to decide as well. I have an Inglesina Espresso that is nice. It's not too bulky but it's not an umbrella type. I bought a Combi Dash in China when I was there adopting my daughter. It was very easey to use and come home with but she's getting to big for it. It isn't comfortable to push for long periods. It's a gorgeous hot pink, though! I recently bought a Macalaren Quest and I like it mostly. I don't like how it tips.

I'm thinking I'll take the Inglesina since there is more storage space and tipping isn't an issue.

Maclaren volo, new 2007 has rain cover included. Has plenty of storage under. Just get a stroller organizer or cup holder and you are set to go.

Loved mine so much I bought a second one for our upcoming trip. we have a 2 and 4 year old and these strollers push so easily even with bigger kids in them.

love them. folds easily one handed, weights only 8.6 pounds. major selling point for me. I won't be adding any weights for tippiness! I usually just toss my purse and diaper bag in bottom basket?

carryyou dot com sells saddle bags which are nice too, but a bit pricey.

We bring a cheap lightweight w/storage underneath and place for drinks on top. It is easy to get off/on buses and when the airlines break it:rolleyes1 you don't have to worry aout it.

What a great thread. I'm stroller shopping now for our trip in the fall.

I'll let you know what I find. But, in general, if your searching online, try looking at "lightweight" strollers. I've found that for the most part, the ones in this category fit the bill. More beefy than an umbrella, and most recline and have some storage, but not so bulky as the big heavy duty strollers.

I wasn't sure about spending the money for a new stroller when my daughter was 2, but it was SOOO worth it.

I got the Maclaren Triumph, and borrowed the bag with drink holder that goes over the handles. It was fantastic.

I could keep our water bottles and items in the storage bag even when the stroller was folded up on the buses. My daughter didn't ride much but the diaper bag and all our stuff was easy to transport with the stroller.

At home I use it all the time to get library books, and go to the mall etc. Again, my daughter rarely rides in it but I use it whenever we have a lot of stuff.

I'm bringing my Maclaren Quest. It's the best stroller I ever bought besides my Peg Perego, which is too heavy to bring to Disney. I bought a Combi once and it was a piece of junk and broke within a year.

Yeah, the Quest tips over easy, but I'm going to try and not load too much junk into the organzier I'll have hanging in the back.
