What kind of prices could we expect?

My family has purchased AP's for the first time. We plan on going to WDW May 7-14. We are very interested in the monirail resorts. What do you think the AP rates would be for say the Poly or CR? Ball park is fine. We are trying to see if these are within our budget. Also how hard is it to get an AP rate at one of these resorts. Sorry about all the questions but We are trying to get a game plan together for the day of the crazy Ap phone call.

Last years rates for Poly and CR from 4/18/04 - 7/4/04 were:

Contemporary - $149 standard view garden wing

Polynesian - $229 garden view, $315 lagoon view

There are several people who book the rooms ar full rack rate, then look for the code to have the ressie modified. If the room was paid in full, they will credit you at checkin. I would call right away and start seeing what they do have.

If a rate does not come out, you can always swap to another resort.

May 5th is the big anniversay celebration at WDW. I would definitely book a room now if you can. That week sounds like it will be a little crazy though hopefully things will die down the last few days of your trip.
