We usually drive down to DL but we're flying this year and I'm trying to pick the best way to book. Should I wait for a couple of months and see if there are any deals for September?? We usually go in spring so I'm not sure what deals there have been in the past for fall. TIA!! I'm learning alot from everyone here!!

If you are flying, buy now, the prices will only increase.

If Southwest flys in your area, right now they have a sale going on $99 one way; granted it's not every day of the week. Check it out.

As I learned from this site, if you have an entertainment book, you can save a lot on hotels but reserving early is key; otherwise the hotel may sell-out on the discounted rates.

I agree with the previous poster. I've been monitoring plane tickets and they just went down significantly for our October trip so I went ahead and purchased them. Last summer I waited too long and they shot back up. Southwest does have good sales even up until a couple months before, but other airlines don't seem to so much. We prefer Alaskan from here b/c there isn't a layover and they fly into Long Beach. I just booked for the same price as the $99 each way Southwest special. I read somewhere recently that the best plane ticket prices seem to be available around 5-6 months before and 2 months before. That wasn't the case with Alaskan last year though, they never went back down.

I haven't booked a hotel yet. But I'm sure I'll do that soon.
