What kind and how many animals do you have?

I have 1-1 year old 94 lb German Shepard who is still growing.
1 black kitten who is 6 months old and 2 hermit crabs that DD11 bought over the weekend.

8 dogs : oldest is 10 yrs 5 of them are 6 yrs 1 is 7 yrs & 1 is 4 yrs

(4 Pointers 2 Dachshunds 1 Redbone Coonhound 1 proves God has a sense of humor..we have no clue what she is)

1 cat--9 yrs

1 horse-will be 5 yrs next month

We have 4 dogs: a 9 year old St. Bernard/ Spaniel mix (yeah, you read that right), a 7 year old Beagle mix, a 5 year old Australian Shepherd mix, and a 9 year old toy poodle. All rescues.

We also have 4 cats: 3 calicos - an 8 year old, a 7 year old and a 3 year old, plus a 3 year old tortie. The two older ones are from shelters and the two 3 year olds are litter mates from a stray who gave birth in DH's uncle's garage.


We also have a chinchilla (about 18 months old - also a rescue), a bearded dragon - 3 years old, and an African Cichild (a fish) who is about 2.

Yep, that's 11, if you were counting. We hire a pet sitter when we go out of town because it's cheaper than boarding all of them.

We actually used to be close to that. Now we have 2 dogs--a Golden who turns 1 this week and has the best personality in the world and a Cocker who was the runt of the one litter I accidently let her parents have--yeah, I know. Also we officially have 3 cats (the 4th who was 16 1/2 passed away recently) but unofficially we have I don't know how many...I can think of at least 4 others that show up on the porch to mooch. I was surprised that mine were not more territorial and one of those even would go in the back yard and eat the dog food....

We have 2 Boxers, I really wish we had more but DH and I agreed not to let ourselves be out numbered for awhile Although DH is hopeing to add an English bulldog puppy to our home somewhere in the future. And once our yard is done I would love to be a foster for Boxer Rescue. Boxers are like potato chips, you can't have just one. So who knows in a few years we may catch up with you guys

Good luck with that ...most fosters fail fostering and become adopters
I speak from experience..everybody here is a rescue including our horse, she came from Canada Couldn't picture life w/o any of them

we have one long haired calico @10 years old...Pearl was a rescue and is assumed to be about that old.


Ferret of unknown age....Dude showed up on our porch one night almost 2 years ago....he is DD17's boyfriend...though DD13 just told her tonight he's been stepping out on her with the local racoon yup...they are nut, just like their mama
