What Keeps You Awake At Night?

I worry mostly about 2 things: safety on the long drive down (they are CRAZY around Atlanta!) and then illness once we are there. Mostly I fear the stomach flu, although now that my kids are older and can barf in a trash can I fear it less!

As much of a worrier as I am, I don't fret too much about what will happen at WDW. We ALWAYS have fun. I count on the staff there to help us in making things right. And I try to get myself into the right frame of mind: this is a VACATION and we are to RELAX and HAVE FUN! It's always special being together for a week with no responsibilities.

Enjoy!

Well, in this case, I made ressies for my parents along with my ressies at PO-FQ for October, but my parents are still unsure if they will be able to go, or if they do go, they may only stay 3 of the 7 nights. My worry is that when I go to cancel their room, or decrease the amount of nights, they will accidently cancel our room as well, and we got great discount rates!

Other than that, I don't have any other worries...well, except whether will be able to get Cindy's during our stay! We will have already done the new Princess breakfast at Epcot in August, so this is an important one!

Money, money, money.

I hate being on vacation and feeling like I don't have enough money to do everything I want to do, or thinking I'd like to eat at that restaurant but we don't have the money. So I try to give myself a huge cushion of spending money. I spend a lot of time worrying about having enough.

Our last vacation we did fine and came in under budget, just because I was so meticulous about preparing. But I stress out weeks-- no, months in advance over the amount being spent on the vacation. (This is why I try to pay for everything as much in advance as possible-- room, park tickets, etc.)

Getting sick while there???!!! Thanks, that's another one to add to my list......

- will our room reservation be there & not cancelled for some obsucre reason?
- will my DD & DNephew have a good time?
- will we get to see all the things we want to in the parks?
- will it rain the whole time we're there?
- will my DH stop worrying about the plane trip?
- will the kids eat at the restaurants we picked?

It's all relatively inconsequential stuff. I just have to keep reminding myself that most of that are things I can't control, so quit worrying about it. As the previous poster eluded to, these are all small worries in the big picture.

Now I have to go add "thermometer" and "tylenol & cough syrup" to my packing list!!!

May everyone have wonderful vacations & RELAX during them!!!

I ALWAYS worry about catching a cold or the flu. In the 3 weeks before the trip, I get really PARANOID about being around anyone who is sick. My trip is the first week of December,
so I will be worried about any sick family members at Thanksgiving dinner. I always get my flu shot because of this.

I worry about that awful pain in my ears during the flight.
Yes...I also use "Air Planes" for my ears.

I worry that I won't be able to sleep the night before. - Or that my alarm clock doesn't wake me up in time for the flight.

Once the plane reaches Orlando, I worry about NOTHING !

my husband's snoring :o

Well, gee, I wasn't worried about anything, but now you've all given me a long list of scary things!!!!

The biggest thing for me, since I am THE PLANNER, is that I hope that everyone (DW, DS and my parents) enjoy the itinerary I've put together.

Our trips are so laid back that I don't worry about much. We've been enough times to not go commando, we don't make PS because there's always an alternative, and we don't expect a particular room.
That being said, I do have some things that cross my mind on occassion:

*Will somebody in the extended family die right before our vacation and we'll have to cancel (very cold but it's a truthful thought that passes through my head).
*Will the dog and bird be OK while we're gone.
*What excuse will I be able to come up with that would convince the hubby we can never go home again. We must stay at Disney until we're tired of the fantasy.

In December of 1999 I went to WDW for eleven days. During that time I didn't leave the property. I came home on a Sunday night, by Monday afternoon I was feeling yucky and left work early, at first chocking it up to too much vacation fun. By Monday night I was in bed with full blown influenza that was so bad my MD considered hospitalizing me. He says the only place I could possibly have caught it due to the incubation period was WDW. At least it waited until i got home to hit me. I NEVER would have been able to get on a plane and fly home, the airlines would have refused me, I was that ill. I feel bad for anyone I infected on the plane, although DH never caught it.

I'm not worrying as much before this trip as I did my last, when I took my DGD...just her and I....during spring break. I was so paranoid I'd loose her in the crowds. It was her first plane ride & I was worrying about how that would go...she loved it. This year my DD gets to go too, so it will be so much easier.

Now all I'm worried about is her making some wise crack about bombs during security check......I keep forgetting to take to her about that.

I have major performance pressure with this trip! My family thinks we're nuts for going to WDW so frequently. This trip my SIL and neice are coming with us. SIL told me I was in charge. Yikes!:o
Now I feel totally responsible for their happiness as well as "proving" the value of disney trips. I actually went so far as to put our itinerary in brochure form so she would have access to all the plans. At that point I realized I'd lost it. ;)

I always worry about whether my room will be nice or not. Silly, but what if for some reason I no longer have a reservation. Then since that last time I was at WL and they tried to charge me $50 extra a night will something like that happen again!

What DON"T I worry about??

That's why I'm usually logged on these boards at 3:00 a.m. because I can't sleep:rolleyes:

Hey Boots- I haven't seen you on for a while. Remember me? My dad's name is Boots.
