What I've learned looking at Disers cruise pics

Another example of how we are all different. Our drill was in AP and seemed to go very fast so we really weren't bothered by the jackets. DH was in charge of listening for our stateroom number to be called. I was busy watching out for DD5, my social butterfly looking to meet new friends and I was also taking pictures. I took a picture of the "crowd" thinking it would be a cool picture of a 'sea of orange', but instead due to being inside, I got a picture of sillouettes of bodies and a bunch of white reflectors. It is a strange look, but we all know what it is! LOL...guess I need photography 101?

As much as we all would prefer not to have to wear those lifejackets...we all know they are there for a reason!!! I know I have gotten more used to the fact that we must do it and now we giggle at each other each time we go to the drill....but I for one am happy they have a set plan in place for emergencies and I am sure if the need arose, those lifejackets would quickly become our best friends!!!

The reflectors on the jackets pick up the flash everytime I take a pic!! Here is one of the family in lifejackets on our way to the drill in my link below!

It's a tough picture to take and because of the reflectors, you should avoid using a flash.

Here's an example. This is my DS6 looking rather disappointed cause I pulled him out of the Mickey pool to do the drill. http://www.pbase.com/srmchan/image/37915390&exif=N

I agree with you, MJ. Safety has to be first and I have preached that to my DD since she was born, practically. This was our second cruise and she put the jacket on, fastened it, with no help whatsoever-acted like it was second nature. She even told an unhappy little girl at the next table, "you just gotta do what you gotta do" and shrugged. Oddly, the little girl seemed okay with it. Or she thought DD was a busy body. LOL...

princess pumpkin, I understand. Thanks! :boat:

MJ, you have photos of EVERYTHING! I love it!

All ages, shapes, and sizes are well represented.

I will say that I have never seen so many "large" children in one place before. Not like this was every child (of course not!) But it was something I just remarked upon. I was not the only one in my party who mentioned this. I can't explain why this was. And I'm not trying to be mean. :sad2:

All are well-represented on the DCL cruises! I think one of the neat things about sailing with DCL is that they have people from all over the world working on the ship. (Some lines tend to be from one predominant area.)

:cloud9: Your thoughts about Trunk Bay are accurate.......it looks like paradise. I keep a pic of TB on my refrigerator all year to remind me that it really exists!! We've been there about 5 times and it is SO BEAUTIFUL! :goodvibes Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

(And I notice it too. I'm as white as they come, but with a Korean son, everywhere we go we notice the "diversity proportion." Lots of factors at play here, including white American's still having a significantly higher median household income than minority households, particularly African American households - cruising ain't cheap.)

i am going to assume the best and hope that you didn't mean to group all African Americans into a low income catagory :scratchin

i live in an upper middle class "black" neighborhood...there are poor people in every race...so to state"particularly African American households" comes across to me as offensive :sad2: :sad2:
