What items (since Septemebr 11th) can you bring into the parks... water bottles, snacks, etc.?

I haven't been denied bringing anything into the parks since 9/11. I always bring in bottles of water and diet coke. I'm sure food isn't a problem either. I've broughten in things like tweezers and nail files and electronics like diskman and camera as well. So I suppose unless you have a gun or knife or something it probably isn't an issue. They usually don't look very closely into the bag anyway.

Last year when we went the security officiers just look into the back packs and that was it. They were really good with our little ones also. I had explained ahead of time that it had to do with the planes going into the building in the states and they said ok. We brought granola bars, crackers, corn chips, bottle water, shoes, rain ponchos, chips. They also are very quick and don't cause alot of confusion. They ask you to unzip your back packs and they just move things around. No big deal

No glass containers (except baby food jars) and no alcohol (at any park, not just MK.)

I don't think they would allow knives, guns, or tazers either.

We brought in a small soft sided cooler with pop, water, few granola bars, crackers, fruit snacks, etc and had no problem

For those DISers who still recall the Corn-ventures.....
We brought in a bag of canned corn & some can openers post-911 for the Partaking of the Corn picture event at DIS-Con1. Got some strange looks from security, but they let us in......

On a regular basis, I bring in my frozen water bottles & an injection kit that I take to First Aid. I've never had any problems with either.

I'd look at it this way. If you can't bring it on a Plane, you probably can't bring it in the Parks....

What they are really looking for is guns, large knives or explosives. It's not the same as a plane. WDW is not not looking for nail files, or cutlery, or even pocket knives.

Has anyone ever seen them confiscate anything? I was in line one time when the security guard told someone his swiss army knife was a "little big" and to leave it home next time. Then they let him in with it. I wonder if they ever really find anything. Plus if you don't have a bag, you could walk in with anything in your pocket. Even if you have a bag checked, they don't check your jacket. I think they should do a more thorough job or get rid of it. It's pretty worthless as it is.

They are really looking for people bringing in too much food, then they make a list and those people won't get email/postcard codes! :D
