and are you happy with it? I've about had it with AOL. They're discontinuing a message board I visit just about every day. If the board goes, I'll be looking to switch ISPs. Who do you recommend? Thanks!

I don't know your budget for your ISP, but I use Earthlink FastConnect DSL. I pay $39.95 a month.... I love them so far and haven't had any probs yet!

I have Comcast Cable and haven't had any problems with them (knock on wood). :)

I use Insightbb's cable modem and I love it! I had DSL through the phone company for a year before that and had to completely reboot the computer and modem at least once a day in order to keep a connection. Since I switched last fall I have only lost my connection once and that was because the cable company was adding new hardware to keep people from losing speed as new customers signed up.

Well, in the past, I've had Verizon DSL (was great, but we moved), Comcast Cable modem (awesome, but couldn't afford the cost anymore). I'm now back to dial up. I did NOT want AOL. I was forever getting knocked off line last time we had it. I now have peoplepc. It costs me $9.95 a month, has lots of access numbers, and not once have I had a hard time getting on line or staying on line. It doesn't have any bells or whistles...but I really like it. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to go back to my cable modem...no matter how great this ISP is, its still dial up and soooo slow compared to the cable.

I use RoadRunner and I like it.

Thanks! I'm definitely a dial-up person. DSL is a bit too steep for a student. LOL! Anyone else? :teeth:

We use Roadrunner. We did have dial up AOL and it was awful. I got kicked off ALL the time. We still have our AOL with our cable. Right now thats the only Im even able to Dis.

I have been using PeoplePC for over three years. Service is reliable and there are no annoying ads. Best of all you can get it for as little as $9.95 per month for unlimited access.

We've got Comcast Cable and love it. We had some trouble at first because the cable line from the junction hub coming into our house was bad, but they ripped it out of the ground and ran us a new line and we haven't had a lick of trouble since (knock wood).:teeth:

Thanks, everyone! I'll have to check into some of these.

We use Comcast Cable too. We like it.

Ev1.net 10.83 per month - it's been 3 or 4 yrs now, no problem. My friend uses peoplepc and likes it.

I have been using MSN because it had a free year when I got my new computer and I have just never switched. I am looking to switch, MSN has gotten VERY slow for me lately. I have never been able to conncet at any more then 48k, normally 46.6 but for the past 2 weeks it is 45.2 high but normally 44.

is only in Western S.D, it is called Black Hills Fiber Com it costs 99.00 a month but what that included cable, phone, cable modem and internet, The phone service is great because all my phone calls that are in western S.D. are free.

We have insightbb cable modem, but we kept our aol.email accounts because it only cost 2.95 a month for email only. I was really fed up with aol too and so far have been happy with insight.
