What is your strategy of going to a park with evening EMH?

Say you don't have park hoppers. Going in may. Just me and husband, no kids. Active young adults...

If we want to take advantage of Epcot's evening EMH which is 3 hours I believe right? So, I guess that would be 10Pm for Future world and 12 midnight for the World Showcase. I'd prefer not to leave the park and come back. Should we plan to go from 9AM when it opens all the way until 12 midnight? I assume on a regular day people may go from 9AM to 9PM - 12 hours. So should we go from say 12 noon to 12midnight? Or even perhaps mid-afternoon to 12 midnight?

Would it be possible for us to go to a water park and then Epcot? Which water park is smaller (fewer rides, can get done faster?).

Please be aware that World Showcase is NOT open during EMH. When we were there the only things open in World Showcase was the Mexico and Norway rides and a couple shops and restaurants in Mexico and Norway. There were ropes at the end of Norway stopping traffic from entering world showcase. We were under the impression since World Showcase was open till 9:00 regularly and the EMH times was posted as Epcot being open till 12:00 that the World Showcase was open. IT IS NOT! I probably wouldn't do Epcot EMH again, but I would MK. Loved that.

I have never taken advantage of the EMH....this May will be my first time. I am getting a hopper pass, but in your case, may I suggest this: Possibly go to a water park first thing in the morning till around lunchtime/early afternoon, then head on over to Epcot. That seems the most logical if you want to hit them both on the same day. Do everything outside futureworld first since its open the latest. Hope I helped some! :wizard:

Really? EMH is only for Future world???
So what exactly is open and for how long at Epcot?

I was thinking of doing FW in they day and strolling around WS at EMH but if they aren't open I my have to change it.

I guess WS wasn't listed in the attractions open during an EMH but I just thought since it's mainly shops and a few shows it would'nt be listed.

Or if that's the case I guess there really is'nt a point in using the EMH at Epcot...

marriedmarylander~ I have researched all the evening EMH for our trip and I think the most beneficial for us to use is the MK's. I know it will be slightly busier than we are used to, and this way DH and I won't have to worry about rushing to all of our fave rides during the daytimes. We have APs, so we plan on going to AK in the morning (early of course). Spend several hours there, head back to the resort and relax by the pool. Nap. And head to MK around 5 pm for our PS @ LTT and then do EMH! Phew!

Thanks it looks like most people who use EMH utilize it with park hopping - use the EMH to get stuff done but during normal hours do something else. We won't have the park hopper option but will have the plus pack with water parks.

I'm bummed to know WS isn't open for EMH...because my plan was to walk around the countries at night. Why do I want to be in FW when I can be in the countries and watch Illuminations? I think I might switch some stuff around since it sounds like the EMH in my case isn't really worth it. I'm not going during a busy time of the year (moderately light) so I don't anticipate long waits for the FW rides/attractions.

Now I"m wondering if I can change EP to my arrival day..which means I won't get there until around 2:30 or so. We are pretty fast walkers though... and DH already says he wants to skip the american adventure part (says we are from here we don't have to see it) - I laughed. I'm thinking we can get through mission space, soarin, test track and then start walking around the WS and be done around 9... what do you guys think?

I have been reading my Unofficial Guide to Disney World Book and I remember that is said Fastpasses for Test Track and probably the new Soarin' will be gone by the late moring. I don't know how long you would have to wait in the regular line for the big attractions. Just a thought. :-)
