I'm a qualified public relations professional - dealing with the media, city etc. However, after being made redundant by my employers (the ones with the black horse), I decided to have time off and be a "mum" - sorry :blush: got bored after 18 months so now working part-time as an Admin Asst in the local junior school, which I love. No responsibility, no 24/7 on call for the media, no rushing up to London and Scotland, no overnight stays away - bliss. Only problem is, like all our other school workers, can now only go away during school hols, but what the heck, at least I now get them all off. I will go back into PR in the future - I love it - but for now I so enjoy the job and time off with the family :D

DH is an Account Manager for the South of England for a large textiles company (most of you will have something from his company in your house :rolleyes: ).

I am a primary school teacher and I currently teach year 5 and 6. I am also the ICT co-ordinator in the school and head of the junior department. My DH is also a teacher (head of music and also teaches ICT in a large secondary school.) So another pair here also having to stick to the school holidays.

Our hobbies revolve around music (which is what my degree is in as well) and the theatre we help to run in our spare time. I perform on the stage in musucals, play in bands for shows and help run events in the building as the whole arts centre is run by volunteers!!) My other hobby is riding rollercoasters.

Well Bonzo I AM!!!!!! ::yes::

Seriously I REALLY am! I'm a Specialist Epilepsy Nurse for Adults with a Learning Disability. I LOVE my job and found out today i have passed my Nurse Prescribing course which means I'll be let loose with a prescription pad! :eek:

DH is a Local Gov't Officer - ie works for the council! He doesn't love his job but it helps to pay the mortgage and buy tickets to Florida so he sticks with it!!!!!!

Facinating thread.

I too am a teacher, year 1 in my case, so 5-6 year olds. Also music coordinator for my school. Love my job, hate the planning though - especially on a Sunday night.

My degree was in music and I sing in a group ( www.amicussing.co.uk if you want to check us out ) in my spare (ha ha ha) time.

I applied for the Teachers International Development Programme this year and found out this week that I am being sent to Antigua - yes the caribbean-for a week in February to study teaching practice there!!! :jumping4:

I am starting to wonder if there is such a thing as a Disney gene as there are lots of nurses, IT and teachers on this thread...... :rockband:

Deputy head of a large secondary school. Not nearly as interesting as being an English teacher was. Don't get to read much poetry these days, it's all league tables, naughty kids and angry parents...ah well... the extra pay means more hols in WDW.

I used to be an accountant, but decided to have a change of career! So I spent three years doing a degree in Health Promotion, and now I have just finished my first year of nurse training. Only another two to go! :rolleyes: Eventually I would like to be a school nurse.
