Inspired by the "textaholics" thread... what is your favored form of communication?

Poll coming? My preferred method of communication in order is:

1). Face-to-face
2). Email
3). Phone

I really don't like to talk on the phone except for close family members and I never text. So I would have to say email.

Sorry, yes, poll coming!

Mine is texting. But a close second and third would be email then Facebook.

I'm a pretty quiet person and don't talk much, so phone and face to face is my least favorite.

Didn't know there was a poll. Forgot about face to face so voted for it.:goodvibes

I said "other" because I prefer face to face, but that is not always possible or practical- a phone call would be my second choice.

I prefer face-to-face or phone because of the visual or auditory cues. If someone emails me a short message saying, "Oh boy, what a day!" I have no clue if their day is going very well or very badly.

However, for projects, directives or party/get-together invitations, I prefer email so I have something in writing that I can refer back to.

1. Face to face.
2. Phone. IF it's quiet and I'm not driving or otherwise distracted. I don't multitask well and I lose track of the conversation (or worse yet, the vehicle!)

E-mail is convenient, I'm fine with it.
Snail mail is okay for some things.

I don't have texting and don't use facebook or anything like that, so I can't really say if I would like them or not.

I generally prefering texting, email or fb messaging. The person can respond when they get a chance and if they are in the middle of something I eliminate the chance of catching the person at a bad time. I hate talking on the phone and there are only a few people that I talk on the phone to. One of of biggest reasons I hate talking on the phone is when the other person is carrying on conversations with other people at the same time. My BF does this all the time when I am on the phone with her. It drives me nuts.

One thing I will say about my preferred methods of communication is that you don't always get the tone of what is being said. I tend to be very sarcastic and that get lost sometimes. One of my friends is now mad at me because we were kidding around and in a kidding manner called him a jerk in response of something he said to me and he asked me why I though he was a jerk and I told him that we could be here a while if I listed all the reasons and while I meant it in a kidding manner he didn't take it that way and now is mad at me.

That happens to me a LOT! I've learned all the rules about visual and auditory cues so I can stay out of trouble somewhat in face-to-face situations. But there are no such cues in writing.

One of my favorite phrases to family and friends is, "You big WEENIE!" which is always said in a joking, loving manner. However, if I called someone a BIG WEENIE here on the DIS, I'd get points. Guaranteed.

1. E-mail
2. Texting
3. Face to Face

I absolutely HATE talking on the phone!

IM, then email, FB, and only if I have to the phone.

I hate talking on the phone...it's so bad that I don't like ordering pizza over the phone!
