Long time WDWer visiting DL for the first time! I only have about 10 hours to visit... on a Saturday, no less!! Anyone have any must-sees/must-dos/must-eats for our short time at DL?

My list so far is:
The Matterhorn
Haunted Mansion
Alice in Wonderland

Eat a Monte Cristo sandwich
Go shopping at Le Bat en Rouge

There are a million other things I'd like to do, obviously, but these are absolute musts! What do you think? What could you not miss doing on a super short trip to DL?

Other musts in your case I think would be the ones you can't eperience at WDW! Definitely must do Indiana Jones, and Space Mountain is different in DL.
Pirates would be as it is different and rumored to be way better at DL. Also I would do Mr. Toad since you don't have that anymore, Casey Jr., Storybookland, Roger Rabbit and all the others that WDW doesn't have just so you can experience them atleast once in your life.

Monsters Inc for sure if you hit DCA, along with Bug's Land too even if it's just so that you can say you've been on it!! Grizzly is supposedly better than Kali so you may want to try that also!

Have Fun!

Definitely visit Splash Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean! Both are different from their WDW counterparts (especially Pirates -- personally, I think it's 1000% better at Disneyland). Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is a must-do, and the Matterhorn cannot be missed!

Definitely make ADRs for a meal at Blue Bayou (home of the Monte Cristo!). It's a dining experience like no other. :)

Have fun!!

If you have 10 hours, then I would recommend staying at DL and not DCA. I agree with much in the previous post:

Indiana Jones (for sure)
Space Mtn (for sure)
POTC (for sure)
Matterhorn (for sure)
Alice In Wonderland (if you have time)
StoryBookLand Canal Boats (if you have time)

I love to go on the Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes. The line is usually pretty short and they are only open during peak season and weekends on the off season.

Must do List:
Pirates of the Carribean
Haunted Mansion
Splash Mountain
Space Mountain
Buzz

And a visit to the red Corn Dog Wagon!!!

It also depends on if you have children with you or if it's an 'Adults Only' visit.

Our 'must do' list that includes children (7-10 yr olds):
Space Mountain
Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters
Matterhorn
Big Thunder Mountain
Splash Mountain
California Screamin'
TOT
GRR

Although the children in our group are adrenaline junkies, so the choice of rides are a bit slanted to the 'thrill rides'.

These I would agree with I just want to add that I must have a corn dog from the red cart and a churro is a must. Oh and splash mountain.

Yeah well, if the person is a WDW vet with 10 hours at DL, Splash would not be a priority IMO. It is fun, and I do like it, but it is less than the MK version which I presume the OP has ridden before. :)

lol, It's my must do. I must eat a corn dog and ride splash mountain. Probably not a priority but I think in 10 hours you could do splash mountain once.

Yes, you could ride Splash at least once AND you could eat LOTS of corn dogs!:rotfl:

All I can add to what others have said is, since you're going on a Saturday, I can't tell you enough how important it is for you to be there at least 30 minutes before park opening! You will want to do that for sure!:thumbsup2

Have a wonderful 1 day adventure at Disneyland!:woohoo:

I like everything at DL, but the must do attraction I try and ride at least once every visit... is Buzz.

..and I finally got a million points yesterday! 1,206,400! :yay:

As usual ITA with Materhorn and Hydroguy. I would concentrate on things not also at WDW ~ Matterhorn,Monsters inc, Rodger Rabbit, Indy ride, Autotopia (different than WDW),Storybook canals,Alice in Wonderland,Mr.Toad,Casey JR, Grizzly River RApids,Calif Screamin,Jumpin Jellyfish, Mailboomer,Bugs Land and ToonTown. I would concentrate on all the things you can't do at WDW. After that I would for sentimental reasons ride POTC because it was the last ride Walt supervised before he died. Then I would do anything else I wanted.I would eat at Blue Bayou for lunch and have a Monte Cristo. Dinner a corn dog. Have a blast and tell us how it is. Depending on when you go Splash may be down for refurb.

A must do for us is to always walk through the castle which of course is different at DL than WDW. Matterhorn, Splash, Space and Haunted Mansion are always on our list too.

If you make it to DCA, try the clam chowder bread bowl at Pacific Wharf Cafe; it is delicious and just like at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the tips. We're not going with kids (or husbands for that matter), it's just me and a very old friend.

I forgot about Mr. Toad! We will definitely be doing Mr. Toad. Not sure about Splash - she doesn't like thrill rides. I will be going on the Matterhorn while she waits, though. =D

And Roger Rabbit - I'd better do that. One of DH's favorite movies and I think he would kill me if I didn't!

Any shopping recommendations? Is that a stupid question =)

For us, Splash is #1, Indiana Jones #2, Pirates #3 & Grizzly River Run #4. If you can, see Fantasmic at DL. For food, make ADR for lunch at the Blue Bayou at least. Enjoy!

My choices would be Pirates, Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, Roger Rabbit, Mr Toad, Space Mountain, Storybook Canal Boats (still a favorite of mine), Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain.

Get to the park prior to official opening. Get your tickets the night before if you can. Plan your day out before you get there, check out official and unofficial websites. Use Fast Pass and try to eat at "off" times. If you do not want to see a parade, check the times and go on attractions during parades, lines are very short then.

Lunch at Redd Rockets Pizza Port is good. We also love to shop at the Emporium early in the day and stash stuff in lockers. This saves us time at the end of the day as the stores are packed then.

Have fun. You can do lots in 10 hours, we did a marathon 14 hours once and did everything we wanted, including fireworks and Space Mountain 3 times.

Hope this helps.

Do Fantasyland rides first! Especially the Matterhorn. Most other rides will have Fastpass, except Pirates, which you have to do!! Way better!! Same with Space Mountain! Indianna Jones ride like Dinosuar, except better. One of the best rides there! The queue to the ride is almost just as interesting. Have fun!!!
