What is your LEAST favorite Signature restaurant??

Of course I've eaten at them all multiple times and none are what I would ever call "bad".
But I have to say Artist Point is my least favorite. Don't really like the Ponderosa look it has, and some of the menu items aren't that appealing. Plus they have no dedicated bar where you can get a full meal.
Which I guess is why we haven't been there in 4 years.
Any other candidates for least favorite Signature???

It's interesting -- we like the food at Artists' Point, but the room really is only *beautiful* (in our opinion!) when it's light enough out to be able to see outside. Once it is dark out and you lose the view out the windows, I would agree that the room itself doesn't feel as special.

The only signature restaurant we haven't liked (and haven't wanted to return to) so far has been Citrico's. We totally get that each time you visit ANY restaurant you can have a very different experience (your mileage may vary!), but we weren't impressed by the food and it was the only signature so far where it felt to us as though the staff (our own CM in particular) has real *attitude* -- snobbish and condescending.

The only signature we haven't tried yet is Narcoossee's.

I had trouble with this one. I asked DH & he said his least favorite is CA Grill because of the noise. We've had some really bad luck there with Oblivious Parents ignoring over-tired children so they can see Wishes. The food is good. But the noise level puts us off. I would eat there again, but only on a non-Wishes night.

I guess my current least favorite would be Narcoossees. We had such a poor experience there last time. I'm sure it was just an off night, because previously, I had a really great night there. We're planning to stop at the bar for drinks & apps this coming trip, so maybe that will change.

Artist Point was our first Signature & was a must-do for us for many years after it first opened. We have not been in a long time. Neither of us is that excited by the direction the menu went. I couldn't say it's my least fave tho because of the fond memories we have.

Interesting question....

I'm shocked about the negative comment about Citricos. That is by far our favorite place. The food we had there far surpassed anything else we ever have eaten at Disney and we have eaten at almost all Disney restaurants. Further our waiter was amazing. He treated my 6 year old like an absolute princess, cut her food, brought her extras --- made us feel so special. Then the next day we received a personal phone call from the manager asking us how our meal was the night before and asking if there was anything she could do for us to make our stay more special.

I was floored by Citricos. There is no other restaurant at Disney that offers that type of service (except maybe V&A's but we haven't eaten there because we have children).

Yachtsman - but I've never even been there. Steak houses are not my thing.

Out of the ones I have actually been to - Narcoosees, which has never served me anything that impressed me. That is, if CRT doesn't count. I don't count it because its signature designation has nothing to do with food quality.

I love the Territory Lounge, a flatbread and cheese plate is a full meal for me. I'd rather go there than into Artist Point but they served me a lovely buffalo steak last year so they don't rank least favorite.

If Le Cellier is a Signature TS, that's my least favorite. I don't have a problem with the food (I know, most people here love it). I find the cave-like setting too oppressive; IMO, it feels as if it's underground. The tables are placed too close together, and the service can be spotty. :sad2::sad2:
I know that some of the other TS places are just as crowded (the interior part of Chefs de France, e.g.), but many have a choice of sections that feel less crowded. :thumbsup2
As far as the quality of service in the TS places, both Signature and non-Signature, if one goes often enough, not every server will be great, or even good (although so far, I have never had a bad server at JikoS, but that may just be luck). :goodvibes
So I guess for me, it boils down to the lack of windows combined with the very dark decor. :sad1:

Le Cellier's not signature until March 1...We could use a reevaluation then (if anyone can get a reservation)

I gotta say...Cal Grill.
To me the 2nd most overated resturant at Disney.
I know people love it but to me it's passed off as a great romantic fine dining resturant to watch fireworks.
And it's anything but.
Anytime I've been there before or near fireworks time it's packed with loud kids running around.
Sure the view is nice but sorry ruins to romantic and fine dining experience.
The food is good but to me a signature meal is more about the combination of food and atmosphere.
So if I'm paying for signature I want both and don't feel I get that at Cal Grill.

Ca. Grill is currently at the top of my list (with Flying Fish) but I go strictly for the food, not the view, fireworks or romance. I get the concern with the atmosphere. The place is so loud I try to make sure to get out before it gets crazy at fireworks time, or come after the fireworks. The craziness is rather unpleasant.

It's close for us ... Artist Point or Narcoossee ...

AP because we didn't have a very good experience there, but also because we find the food less appealing.

Narcoossees, while in a very pretty location serves the weakest seafood of any signature restaurant on property ... it's so far eclipsed by Flying Fish and Bluezoo that it's never on our radar anymore. And I think it suffers from the same problem that CA Grill has ... too many people want to go there, not really to dine, but to watch fireworks.

For us it has to be Narcoossees....... the rubber lobster just didn't do it for me, and hubbie's meal (can't remember now what it was) was just ok. Citrico's is our hands-down favorite!!!!

I often wonder how many people would go to Narcoossee's (or California Grill) if it weren't for the fireworks? A lot of posts I see about these two spots always seem to be "fireworks first" questions--and then maybe a minor query about the food.
And for the record Narcoossee's is probably # 2 on my least favorite list.

We've been to all of the signatures (except V & A) and our vote for least favorite would be Brown Derby. We just weren't impressed with the food and the service was not as personal and attentive as the other signatures.

Artist Point by a mile. We have eaten here several times over the years and have never really enjoy my meals. It a shame considering that the Wilderness Lodge is such a beautiful resort. They really need to redo this place someday.

I like them all, no least favorites. Favorites are Citrico's being #1 and Artist Point and Flying Fish tied for #2.

Yachtsman, ditto. We have been there once and I was not impressed by either steak I received - I say "either" because I sent the first one back. That and with a half full restaurant we were placed in one of the small rooms off to the side. Even Le Cellier felt more spacious than that. That experience + the prices they charge dissuade me from returning.

BTW , I'm not against "cozy" or "cost". We've enjoyed Le Cellier numerous times and absolutely love Jiko !

Mine has to be Narcoosees. Last 2 visits here have been disappointing with the food and the noise level. I have not enjoyed this restaurant since it became one of the "it" spots to watch fireworks and the food/service took a backseat.

I'm also not going to lose sleep if I don't get back to Artist Point anytime soon. I think the food is okay, not great, but I really do not like the decor or feel of this place.

Brown Derby. Even with ADRs we always have to wait to be seated, and the food just doesn't do much for me.

Great question Unc!

Strangely on this point we disagree. In the past I've noted that our tastes seem to run parallel. I'd rate AP well ahead of others. But strangely we haven't been there in a couple of years (4-6 visits/year) either. Why? Because we're either going to our current favorite, YSH, or trying the other sigs. Guess its time we returned to AP.

Anyway, to answer your direct question, my least favorite would be Cali Grill for exactly the reasons mentioned, too loud and if it weren't for the fireworks this place wouldn't get such great reviews. I do like Narcoossee's though, mostly for the relaxed atmosphere, but we've also had good food and service so we do intend to go back.

Interestingly enough (or maybe not) I'm not a fan of Jiko. Yes, I do love the room and the wine selection. I'm just not in love with the flavors that their food has. Even the filet with mac n cheese doesn't do it for me.

Just my $0.02
