What is your goal weight?

According to the Weight Watchers charts, and according to what I KNOW I look and feel really good at, I want to get down to 140.

I'm only 5'4", so I know that a lot of people would consider that to be "overweight" but I definitely look and feel really good at that weight, and at my age (going on 42), I feel it's a realistic goal, too.

So....I'm looking at losing around 70 pounds to get to 140. But I have to say, I am excited at the prospect of losing each 5 pounds along the way :) :) :) My first official weigh-in is next Tuesday, Feb 18.

I joined WW and have lost 18pds, but I'm stuck at 170pds (been at this weight for the last 5 months). I would like to get down to 150pds. for my Alaskan cruise which is May 24th. It seems to be getting harder and harder to lose. UGH!

I'm 5'4". I started out at 171 in 2001. Now I'm 141. I think my goal is about 134. I'm apple shaped, and in 134 I'm in size 6 pants.

I would love to get down to 130 and fit into my pre-pregnancy pants (haven't done that in nearly 13 years). Maybe "acid - washed" jeans will come back into style and give me more motivation :)

There are a lot of us 5'4" people!

I posted earlier, but wanted to say I need your support!

I did walk, actually run on my treadmill last night. I thought I was going to die. It really took the wind out of me. I slowed it down after that.
I have always been thin. Now, after three kids and I am 40 years old, the fat crept up on me.
The doctor said some of it was due to my thyroid problem.
(notice the word some).
I really want to lose this weight before July. My in laws will be celebrating their 50th and I want to look good.

I don't want to do the Atkins diet. My oldest sister was on that, and got quite ill. I guess I will try counting on WW. My other sister is doing that and jazzercise and really dropping weight.

Any suggestions you can give me would be welcomed.
Thanks.
Lisa

I'm also on WW, which is a good program, but I'm thinking of seeing a nutritionalist as well. Has anyone done this, if so what are your thoughts/comments?

What do you hope to get from the nutritionist? I ask because I think people have a misconception about nutritionists. They don't have a magic bullet. If you already know what to do, and most people who have been dieting for a while know to some extent, then a nutritionist isn't going to help much. I've found that some nutritionists advocate their own personal preferences to the exclusion of other reasonable choices, in the guise of knowing better. That could be counter-productive to your aims, if their personal preferences aren't in line with your sensibilities. Besides, that bias adds nothing to the service they provide you, so I figure why pay for it?

So ask yourself, What is holding you back? What is really the barrier to success? I believe many people (though not all) will find that the problem is more so in their head than in their body: The "I don't wannas" and the lack of discipline, etc. Why are there so many zealots vigorously pushing their personal idea of what is a healthy diet? Low-carb, low-fat, low-calorie, etc. Why? Because they all work. The challenge in weight management is much more a matter of changing your behaviors towards food than figuring out what specific diet will result in weight loss.

I started out at 218 lbs, now I am 161.

My Weight Watchers goal weight is 148. It still seems very, very far away since I have pretty much stalled out between 161 and 165 for the last 3 months. I am losing in quarter pound increments.

I am 5'6" and the smallest size I just bought is a 10. It's a big 10. Most of my new clothes are size 12.

The thing is, I feel pretty good at this weight. When i see it in print it looks big, but people are telling me I don't need to lose any more - that I look thin.

I just wish whatever is left wouldn't jiggle.

Well, my goal wt. is about 145 lbs. according to WW. I joined Jan.2nd and lost 16 lbs. so far. I have about 54 to go. Already, I am more comfortable in my clothes. I am currently a size 14 but would prefer size 12 if possible. I am following the WW diet and exercising regularly. I am finding the diet to be much more bearable than when I did it before. Also, cleaning and doing chores can count as extra points and this makes sense on days when I can't get to the gym and I want to get something done around the house. I am encouraged by my success but I have a long road ahead of me. GL to all!!!:jester:

I'm at 140 now and would like to get down to 120.

I can't believe I actually posted my weight!!!

I think my goal weight is about 134 lbs. Started at 154, just can't seem to break below 150 YET. Like many others, I also am 5'4".
