Barcelona, Spain: Red Snapper Escabeche ( the red and yellow peppers gave it a nice kick.) France: Cabernet Short Ribs with Mashed Potatoes - Yum ! Greece: Greek Salad ( I liked it , and I don't like salads) The Mouse Selection: selection of cheeses (same as 2008)
Loved the Crab Cakes at the Hops and Barley kiosk. We even bought them in the late evening and took them back to the BCV and had them for breakfast the next morning.
Other favorites were:
Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri (Argentina)
Red Snapper Escabeche (Spain)
Seared Beef Tenderloin ( South Africa)
Braised Short Ribs in Cabernet (France)
Ginger Ice Cream (China)
Mousse de Pina Colada y Coco (Mexico)
It is interesting...in 2009 I was not a fan of the fisherman's pie and I thought the pirogies from Poland were awful. I've had them in past years and they were not awful then.
Favorite food was probably the New Orleans bread pudding, but there will not be a New Orleans booth this year.
I am a fan of the Sam Adams cherry wheat beer. (You definitely can't get that for a snack credit though)
I believe the booth offerings will be out sometime in August. Special events are out now.
