What is your favorite signature restaurant?

Flying Fish.

We prefer eating at the low bar, where you can watch the prep chefs.

(We love Kimonos too for sushi.)

Two trips ago I really enjoyed my meal at the Yachtsman's Steakhouse. I didn't eat steak, however. I had the Chillean Sea Bass over crab ravioli. This dish was divine. It was one of the only meals where I savored every bite and ate the whole thing!

I have read quite a few reviews recently saying that the Yachtsman's has gone down hill, though, so I suppose dine at your own risk. But I loved my meal!

I personally think the Brown Derby is overrated. My food was completely not memorable, and another member of my party's food tasted rancid. She (obviously) sent it back and was served something else...but it definitely put a damper on the place for me.

This trip we will be trying Jiko!

Narcoossees, California Grill and Yachtsman Steakhouse in that order. :cool2:

Thank you all for your great responses! I had one more question, as I have never tried a signature restaurant before. Does your meal last about as long as any other table service restaurant, or should I plan for more time at these restaurants? We're usually in and out within an hour, but I'm getting the feeling it might not be as rushed? :confused3

Plan a longer meal Cali Grill is almost always 2 hours. I love Cali Grill but equally love Jiko. My fave though is Flying Fish. Jamstew is right about Brown Derby at lunch - and I do miss that oyster and brie soup! I want to try it at dinner next time. Still right now is Flying Fish first then Jiko then Cali Grill.

Wow, 2 hours! I don't know if my DD can sit that long! Hmmm, I'm glad I asked. For those if you that dine with your younger children, is there enough to look at through the windows to keep your children content to sit for that long? I booked a 5:30 ressie at Cali Grill on our arrival night, but I'm wondering if this might be too much after a long traveling day? :confused3

This is not the restaurant I would choose for kids on arrival day! The reason one poster said the place was noisy with kids running around is that the meal lasts too long for them imo. When I travel alone I go here and other signature restaurants, but when I travel with my dgd4 I plan CS meals, character meals, Flying Fish which can be fast if you ask them or Jiko where she can have a flatbread and salad. I figure the trip is for her and so plan meals that are fun for her. If I were you and if your kids eat meat (my dgd4 doesn't) I would go for O'hanas, or Crystal Palace or oh I am blocking the name but the restaurant at WL where the kids ride brooms and they bring the food family style and fast.

thank goodness for the dis where you can learn so much! I will cancel my Cali Grill for arrival night and see if I can fit it in another night, if any. I have all of my ADRs with plenty of character meals and all the places her heart desires. I wanted to pick one meal for myself that I've always dreamed of, and this place is it. BUT, I don't want it to be a miserable drawn out experience for her. I'm on the deluxe dining plan and wanted to try a few Signature Restaurants...maybe my next post should be, which Signature Restaurants are best (quickest) with preschoolers? :thumbsup2

Flying Fish is our favorite.

Citricos would be second but we've had some non-stellar meals here which offset the amazing meals we've had.

Jiko would be third because of the appetizers. The food longer as good as it was a few years ago.

Ca Grill has a great view and good sushi but oh, the noise, the noise...

Brown derby gets bad press but we've never had a bad meal here and the ahi tuna entree has been one of the best I've had anywhere.

Yachtsman and Artist Point are okay but nothing special.

Narcoosees has been very disappointing the last two visits.

I completely agree. :thumbsup2 Except for Brown Derby, because we have never been there.

Flying Fish and Citrico's are definitely at the top of our list!

Both California Grill and Artist Point top my list. I think the food and service at both was excellent. Jiko had great food but the service was horrible. But I may go back and give it another shot.
