What Is Your Favorite Land?

When I was younger, it was, hands down, Tomorrowland. At the risk of sounding overly critical, I think Tomorrowland is starting to show its age. I certainly would not suggest removing any of the rides, but I do think it the land as a whole needs some updating.

Mainstreet USA holds a special place in my heart because it immediately takes me back to my childhood. It really is the first thing I think of when I think of Disneyland. Stepping unto Mainstreet, for me, is knowing that I am there and all the great memories that are sure to follow. It is the anticipation of things to come.

But I believe my favorite land is New Orleans Square. Two of my favorite rides, HM and PotC, reside here. As I mentioned in another thread, PotC is my absolute must see and HM is probably second. Even as an adult, this pair never fails to bring a smile to my face.

So what is your favorite land and why?

Tomorrowland because i like future-y stuff and hollywood backlot in dca because my favorite rides are there, TOT and monsters inc.

I don't consider Main Street USA to be a "land", for me it's the entrance into the park so I can consider it a favorite while not thinking of it as a "land". My favorite "land" is New Orleans Square, 2 of my favorite rides are there, it feels "magical" (more than other areas of the park) to me, I always feel my vacation has started as soon as I hit NOS.

I love Fantsyland! I saw it for the first time 4 years ago and I was just as in LOVE as my girls!!!! Love to ride Peter Pan it was my favorite movie as a little girl and when I rode it for the first time I felt like a little girl again!!! It was magical!

It's funny because you mentioned everything I would have mentioned if I had been the one to start this thread. Tomorrowland was my favorite land as a kid too. Space Mountain was the very first roller coaster I ever went on, and it remains my favorite ride at DLR today. I also loved Star Tours. Those rides provided some of the best memories I had at DLR as a child. However, for me, Tomorrowland has lost some of its magic because of how crowded and congested it always is, especially at the entrance by Astro Orbitor and Star Tours. It's just too difficult to navigate around so many people.

I'm tempted to say that Main Street USA is my favorite land as well. How can anyone who truly loves DL not love the feeling of entering the park through Main Street? The shops, the smells, the Main Street vehicles, the characters, the parades...It really is a wonderful place to take in all of the magic of DL.

But, after all is said and done, I have to say that New Orleans Square is my favorite land, for the same reason you stated. Although my favorite ride is Space Mountain, I wouldn't be able to justify spending so much money to go to DLR if POTC or the HM were closed for refurb. As I also mentioned in another thread, DBF and I went in January when HM was closed for the removal of the holiday overlay. It was a mistake we won't make again. These rides are just too important to miss.

When I was very young, it was Fantasyland.
When I was in my teens in was Tomorrowland.
In college it was New Orleans Square.
Now my favorite is Adventureland.

Fantasyland

Have to say when I was a kid Tommorrowland was also my favorite! But I was also a kid in the 80s and thats when TL was thriving: PM, Captain EO, SM, Subs (original version), Autopia, motorboats, Star Tours, Circle Vision, America Sings. Now the 2010s, well we now have about half that and we now have a cartoon version of subs and sadly Captain EO is STILL there...it was fine when it was in the 80s, but now it feels like the 80s, not good! Its just not the same!

And I would say today, certainly NOS! Whats funny is that place hasnt changed much in the last 30 years either, but thats why its so easy to do timeless eras of the past vs the future.

Fantasyland, because, to me, it's pure Disney. The theming there is so much nicer than MK's Fantasyland, which makes me like it even more.

For rides, it has to be NOS, though - and the atmosphere there is wonderful, too!

For me, my "favorite" land changes with the time of day because each one has a different ambiance when the light is different, etc...for instance, I love Fantasyland in the early morning, but Critter Country is my favorite during the daytime. In the late afternoon, just before sunset, I love New Orleans Square. And at night, my absolute FAVORITE place to be in the park is Adventureland, because of the lights and music there.

I especially love New Orleans Square and Adventureland, in that order. NOS for its French Quarter design and architecture, and of course those rascally pirates as well as the Haunted Mansion, and the goings on that take place at that beautiful antebellum mansion.

Adventurland also for its design and architectural elements, and Indy and the Jungle Cruise, are my most favorite adventures.

Mine was always Fantasyland! Simply because I loooooved the Dumbo ride and Peter Pan as a kid.
However now it's Frontierland, much more outdoorsy.

SO totally agree.... but I must add Splash Mountain as well. Those three, I could spend one whole day just hanging on those rides.

But I also like Main Street. Just to sit on a bench and watch the world go by.... oh with a snack too.

If I had to LIVE in a land, Tomorrowland for sure! The House of Tomorrow in Innoventions would be pretty comfortable and I'd love to ride Space Mountain whenever I wanted. I also really like Captain EO.

Realistically, I'd say New Orleans Square is overall the best atmosphere (with the possible exception of Main Street) and has two of the very best rides...but it's so small.

IF you judge by the Disneyland website, they say Frontierland contains the Sailing Ship Columbia, the Mark Twain, Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, AND Fantasmic! (as well as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Big Thunder Ranch, obviously). So going the way Disney splits them, I think I might have to say Frontierland. I'm surprised! But--again, going by Disneyland's grouping, which I'm not sure I agree with--it has a large number of rides, AND my favorite show...so on that basis, it might be my favorite. (It also has The Golden Horseshoe, though that doesn't come up as a Ride and Attraction.)

But I still might have to say Tomorrowland, because it's where I end my last night at Disneyland every trip. If they could just bring back the Peoplemover, it would be my favorite land without a moment's hesitation, no matter how dated or crowded the place is.
